Are veteran areas empty?

One thing I always like about this game are the busy streets in the starting town. But when you beat the main storyline and reach veteran area, is the VR1 area populated? Or it has 3 or 4 people scurrying around? This is something I've always wondered.

There pretty well wouldn't say Mournhold populated but not a ghost town. Mainly due to Craglorn having no EXP gain at all but luckly that's changing in update 7.

Silver is pretty much as busy as starter zones.

    Gold not so much.

The vet level changes will empty out the V10 gold areas and push everyone to craglorn.

This will cause players to become self sufficient or attempt to group more at craglorn until they out level the content by sufficient margin to steamroll it.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

Xbox is busy up to about VR5-6 then less and less. I'm in V9 zone. seen maybe 3 people in the last day in town... almost nobody outside... except for some dolmen fights.

There are a bunch of zombie grinders lagging out Greenshade though.

Edit: This is EP on Xbox BTW

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to beat the game to be rewarded with empty towns.

Sounds about right, ghost towns everywhere. It feels like single player in gold vet areas

For me, VR has been much more scarce than <50. I'm now in the Rift (AD start) and the number of players around is few. Sometimes, I have to pass on dolems since enough people aren't around and I can't beat them on my own.

If it's this scarce in silver, gold should be interesting.

I think people bailed on the silver and gold and headed directly for Craglorn, but that's just a guess.

DC veteran zones through Cadwell's Silver n Gold are pretty sparsely populated. I see only a handful of players per outing.

Can say on PC at least most vet zones are pretty much dead. You'll run into the occasional quester, grinder or material farmer, otherwise zone - and areas - are barren.

Months ago when grinding wasn't as popular and people didn't have several VR14 Alts, vet zones were still quite populated. I believe as players move on to create new alts the vast majority pick grinding over questing at vet levels due to the smaller time commitment.

If there was something worthwhile other than Skyshards or achievements in the zones I could see them becoming more popular. Until then, a barren wasteland of wasted beauty.

The unfortunate part is so many mmo's are like that with older zones. Then they will add in a quest line that you can complete in a couple hours in a zone and say here, you went back to an older zone.

On XBOX NA Caldwell Silver for Daggerfall (meaning I'm running around the dominion), I've seen ebbs and flows. I've generally not had trouble finding someone randomly riding to the same boss as me, and sometimes get help in the caves. But sometimes (and I honestly don't mind it to be honest) it does feel like single player out there.

I am just getting started in the next to last portion of caldwells silver (can't remember right now exact names, as servers are down), and I'm Vet 4.

I just ran though Craglorn yesterday and collected all the lower Skyshards (Nightblade invisibility) and only ran into a couple people once I reached upper Craglorn.

It would help if you specified your platform, server, and alliance (since there can be vast differences in population, depending on those).

PS4 NA EP silver vet zones are highly populated right now. Way more populated than they were on the PC when I left. I'm in the Vet 5 area right now and can't throw a rock without hitting two other players. When I was in the vet areas on PC, there were much fewer players around.

DC and rank 5 vet. European xbox one server.

Just got to Stonefalls in EB territory (cadwell's gold).

Absolutely dead. Bar 2 of my guild members questing with me, I've seen 2, maybe 3 people in 2 days.

Spent about a week and a half in the AD territory (cadwell's silver) and saw maybe 15 people a day. May have even been the same.

    So yes, they're pretty empty.

Which is great. Nobody rushing me through quests/delves (because they just rush ahead while I like looting/listening to dialogue) and plenty of ore/wood to gather. The amount of chest I found in 2 days Stonefalls is as much as the rest of the game since launch.

    I'm glad it's empty.
