The cost penalty for Bolt escape functions like any other % based cost modifier. They are all additive with the exception of the Champion System Passive which is multiplicative at the end.

Also keep in mind the 12.3% Penalty is applied to penalties as well as cost reductions.

So the 50% Penalty right now is only a ~43.9% Penalty. Two of them is ~87.8% etc..

Oh well so champ passive for cost reduction is becoming more potent the more you bolt? Thats news for me indeed.

I knew about the 87% thing but writing 43% instead of 50% sounds much less dramatic.

The champion passive is applied after everything else is calculated which makes it weaker than straight cost reduction until your third or 4th bolt consecutive bolt escape under the new rules. Either way the cost increase is still unsustainable for using bolt escape as a mobility mechanic. The third bolt escape is still 4280 magicka with the maximum reduction possible (Archmage/Seducer/ 100 CPs into Magician/7/7 Light Armor/ 3 Legendary Cost reduction enchants) and it gets worse from there.

In this best cast scenario each additional bolt escape costs 964 magicka more than the prior one.
