Currently going for a witch doctor feel as I loved playing as the witch doctor protagonist in Diablo 3
currently lvl 13 Argonian Nightblade Medium and Light Armour focus

Skills

Soul magic: Soul trap morph, Soul Spitting and Soul Summons passive.
Siphoning: Strife, and cripple
Shadow: veiled strike and Consuming darkness.
Assasination: teleport strike
Bow: poison arrow - poison injection morph with long bow passive
Working on Secondary Healer Reso Staff and Funnel Life.

My main focus is lingering damage, Cripple, Strife + poison injection and soul steal I have also a focused a bit on destruction with flame knock back which is awesome with strife and cripple allowing you a tonne of time to watch their health meter drop whilst or punishing foes with the final blow with teleport strike however toe to toe i get punished by same level or lower but at range so far my build is brutal and alot of fun.
group mobs are fun but at same level or above can be difficult as i am lacking aoe dps abillities at the interim, any thoughts ideas? would love a necro/witch doctor build however daedra and the overall sorcery skill line arent my thing I have tested and wasn't to my suiting

You could throw in summon shades/dark shades. The shades ability basically acts like a damage over time skill that happens to look like summoned 'minions'. Also reduces enemy damage. I would probably not use soul trap, at least not past the first few levels, because it deals horrible damage and has no redeeming qualities. Instead, for another DoT, pick up entropy from the mage's guild line (which also heals you and provides spell power bonuses, btw!).

The bow choice fits thematically, but your bow skills scale off stamina instead of magicka, which is what everything else in your build needs. You'd be better off using a destruction staff (fire or ice, probably). Destructive touch/destructive reach adds more damage over time to your target, and burning from a fire staff can add another DoT.

Aoe might be a problem but you can always go for fear, trap one, kill one, on to the next target. Use veil of blades for ultimate.

Had a 'warlock' type of build that uses destro staff, sap essence, mass hysteria and maleafic wreath for aoe. Take resto staff as your second wep and you can even cast healing ward and enter the fray going apeshit in the midst of the enmies, fearing and sap essence everyone while casting debilitate for magicka returns.

It's crazy but was sure a hell lot of fun doing that in public dungeons xD

For a big "necromancer/witch" flavor boost, I would seriously consider the skills in the Undaunted line.

    MWUAHAHAHAHA!!!

Alright I've hit Lvl 15 and I've decided to go with destruction and restoration as your comments really helped the decision I am not too far off summoning shades and aspect of terror this is definitely the direction I'm going with I can't wait I am rocking fire staffs with flame runes and knock back for extra damage and room to work with inflicting cripple and path of darkness for speed moving from one to the next making use of agony with larger higher level mobs and still using teleport strike and veiled when it's tight both dish out more than enough damage as finishers I am finding it easier to destroy mobs of of 2-3 levels above my own where as before it was a struggle fighting npc at my level or lower I do a little bit of carry with my res with healing and personal and group buffs and siphoning I want to go the undaunted path with the webs and inflict fear, I'm also using fear and teleport strike, and a whole lot of shadow as well us the ultimate I'm loving restoration as the secondary choice healing and buffing abilities whilst dealing massive dps as well as slow and self haste also leveling mages guild I really want meteorite!! And the passive perks would make any Mage build relentless I am really loving this build so far I am hoping by Lvl 25 I should have all the abilities I want and can focus more on passives!!

Still using soul trap only for means of filling soul gems for ressurections and reffilling empty magical entity's I fill soul the soul gems then get rid of it from my ability tray as mentioned above the dps is barely noticeable however I am curious on checking out the ultimate it simply just sounds badass
