Pros and Cons for each ... bottom line if you can afford a good gaming PC, PC ESO is the way to go.

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Doesn't even have be a good PC. I ran this for the first 6 months fine on a 2009 dodgy AMD with a Nvidia 560Ti.

PC hands down. The incoming addition of the controller support will give PC everything that the console version has minus voice chat. You can hook your machine up to your TV and play with a controller if you like, or play with mouse and keyboard.

But more specifically- console version lacks addons and has to suffer through a horrendous UI, has no text chat at all and relies entirely on voice chat, and seems to have more downtime than the PC version (at least all the times I've seen people talking about the console versions being inaccessible, I've been logged in and playing on PC).

This isn't a console vs PC thing... this is console ESO vs PC eso, and console just got the short end of the stick this time around.

No question. PC. Not even in the same ballpark. Addons Make the game 200% better. The tools for inventory management, crafting and economy alone, make the decision a no-brainer. Tac on the combat addons and things like mini-map etc.... PC all the way.

PC version allows you to autorun so you can lead your group off cliffs as you look at your inventory. There is no autorun in the console version. PC > Console

Pc just has more options. Whether you want more ui info, or heck, even less, you have that option on PC.

no, the transfer from PC to console was limited time only, and no longer available.

Fresh start if you change platforms.

Dang that sucks, However i've heard that certain xbox games will allow cross platform play with pc in the future. Maybe that will be when an avenue for transfering info through the cloud will become available. I mean after all, microsoft makes pc's and xbox's why not have some interaction.

I'm not being mean to consoles as I own a bunch of them myself, but there are games that simply don't compare favourably to a PC release, especially when they were released on the PC first.

The console version is the PC version sans text chat (which is really the only way to roleplay), granular control of voice chat (using your own chat applications), mods (some of which are game-changing, such as Librarian), graphics improvements (like SweetFX and ENB), elegant controls (it's hard to look around and appreciate something if your character's head is jerking around like a badly built robot), the ability to take screenshots, et cetera. The PC version is objectively the superior version. The only reason to purchase the console version is if you don't have a PC, really. Of course, that's a lot of people.

A good corollary is Dragon Quest VIII on iOS. A lot of people will buy it for that platform because they don't have the original platform it came out for (or a way to emulate it). Except they'll be missing out on voice acting and they'll have to put up with clunky controls.

Even just a mod that adds a button to have an NPC repeat a piece of voice acted dialogue is lovely. If someone spoke over it, you can just have them repeat what they said.

For me, there's just no contest.

Played on both PC and PS4. Console version is much smoother and enjoyable in my opinion.

Exactly. It's not about more clutter, it can actually be about less. I made a mod which hides a bunch of UI elements (both from mods and the official UI) when I press a button. This lack of info spam leads to a more immersive and Skyrim-like game. I couldn't play without it. I really hate the screen being filled with info-spam, and seeing the console defaults I wouldn't be able to play that, either.

I'm sure some might like to think that PC owners just want to fill up their screen with garbage. No, that's not what it's about. It's about options. It's about playing the game your way. It's about being able to shape the experience to fit you, rather than just living with things that really aggravate you. That's been the boon of PC modding since the dawn of PC gaming.

@AuldWolf .. agree, a decent gaming PC will (almost) always win over a gaming console.

I have a PS4 for the change in the way I game, to be more deliberately casual .. and to free up the PC for others to use. Used to be hardcore gamer back in the early days of WoW and realised the loss of my life to online gaming.

I play it on console and i would suggest avoiding it and grab the pc version. Console version feels like a sub par single player rpg.

Lexus or Kia? They both get you where you want to go, they both do a lot of the same things. But one is nicer, has more options, and also has a higher price tag.

With the Kia you get what you get. With the Lexus, you can upgrade to Lamborghini if you have the funds.

But at the end of the day, the "base purpose" is served just the same by both of them.

So you choose the one that suits your needs.

(btw I loved my Kia, drove her till her repair was more than her worth, and wrote her a eulogy as she went to the big junk yard in the sky...even a Kia can rock it!)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

It's all preference, but here's why I don't play PC:
    1. There was duping on the PC from beta release, there is no way they would've been able to narrow down and delete/ban accounts involved once items/profits were funneled.
    2. There are still people using bots/Macros to farm CP and gain unfair advantages to this day on PC.
    3. People have had time to grind so much CP on PC.
    4. Generally the culture of PC gamers is much more hardcore so some of them literally only exist to play this game (breeds elitism and delusional players).
    5. The points above are why PC players should not have been allowed to Xfer and contaminate the console version.
    6. The Console version appears to run more smoothly.
    7. People aren't using different Add-Ons or running better rigs (No advantage/even playing field)
    8. Elder scrolls games are always more popular on console than PC. (barring the skyrim/oblivion modding community) the games are effectively made to be playable to console and PC.
    9. As an avid former Diablo 3 player, Runescape, numerous other MMORPG/Class/Adventure style games I can say they have made the mouse redundant with the console version, it isn't necessary.

Just a few reasons I can think of in about 5 seconds.

top reasons more reasonable, but might be exaggerated due to no clear numbers.
Hacks do plague console games too, so it might happen eventually.

    5. Knowledge is power
    6. Depends on PC
    7. People still use things to there advantage in the Console versions buying better monitors etc...
    8. No, laughable considering ES was explicitly a PC game
    9. Depends, Diablo 2 is made for mouse therefore Mouse > Controller

Boils down to the gameplay experience you desire.
Check out what each of the three platforms offer and align yourself...good game on all three but diff options of how to play.

If you want variety and more options, go with PC
