Ps4 starting out now will I never be competitive in pvp?

You can be competitive in PvP. It just takes time to get there like everyone else had to. The players that you see crying about it are just too damn lazy to put in the effort required.

As long as you buy xp pots to grind cp you'll be fine.

I also recommend not leveling past 49 so you can have somewhere between 25k-30k health

It's not true... As one of the "crying" players I can say that as long you have enough time to play you will become competitive. But if you can't play often enough, like me, it could be a problem. Not everyone can grind enough to get up there, which certainly doesn't make them lazy. (working for a living is the opposite of lazy)

There has been talk of introducing cp free campaigns to address this, but there has been no commitment about it yet.

Only reference I have is daoc with realm ranks and wow. In both I could do well not being super hard core. Yeah, you might be at a disadvantage, but it wasn't extreme.

Yes, just don't expect to kill anyone by yourself, travel in groups of 15-24 at all times, grind for hours and hours and hours in PvE because you get basically 0 xp in PvP, get to level 30ish, and then you can be ok in PvP. Just stay away from vet 8-14s and soon vet 8-16s. Do that, then yeah you'll be ok in PvP

To be competitive you need the skills and gear/specs of your competitors. Never 1v1 and you will mostly avoid those at low level with 100's of CPs.

You need to start out with a toon planned to be PvP .. the skills you need to level, and the morphs thereof will mostly be different to those chosen for PvE.
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Yeah I have killed 3,350 players in PvP so far, and am a sergeant 2nd level, since launch on consoles. I would have more kills and higher ranking if I didn't have to leave at v1 to level up so I wasn't squishy anymore, came back at v3. Oh yeah, I leveled from 10-vet1 doing straight PvP

Pvp is great. Don't let anyone say you can't.

There will always be that guy who has ton's of CP from PC.

I die all the time. Does that make me a bad pvper? Not at all. I just like to risk it to get the biscuit. Go big or go home.

Right now with all the exploiter's though, there really isn't a competitive scene until it's fixed. You should probably just level up to V14 and play PVE content. Wait for IC DLC do get serious into PVP.

There is really only one Campaign on PS4 that i know of which is competitive, Azura's Star. It's so balanced between the 3 alliance's it's crazy. The server is full for all 3 faction's all the time, 200+ queue's in the evening's it's so popular.

The rest of the campaign's are just overrun by one faction. @ZOS Need's to balance campaign's.

But just don't put the time in pvping right? Because we all know you level up very very very slowly in PvP. Just put your time in grinding for hours and hours and hours...right? Because we all know that's how you level the quickest. The game favors grinding to become stronger in PvP over actually playing PvP. Just shoot the man straight, no need to mislead him ;)

I dont undestand what competitive PVP means, before CP and IC, VRs were huge advantage given to VR14, so nothing have changed. Now is good time to start as IC-gears are coming and its fresh start for everyone. Things are gonna be alot different in 2-3 month after IC release as people have IC-gears and even higher CP.

oh its true.. everyone else moved their VR14 characters from PC to console and were allowed to mess up PVP for all the new people and that sort of thing still happens

What do you mean by "competitive"?

This game is not 1v1 its realm vs realm. even your VR doesent make too much difference to a cordinated group

If the game WAS designed for 1v1 then your use of skills and situational awareness means far more than a few champ points.

Over 300 CP gives pretty poor returns anyway, 300 Cp takes around 6months to a year to get, so easily obtainable if you are "pro" or even if you are just "serioius"

    That said

Why do you think somoene should be equal to someone else who has played longer. All things being equal, skill, computer, internet conection quality. Surely the person who has put more time into their character should have some advantage for their time played.

    Do you not agree?

Don't worry about it OP. Head to a non-vet PVP and go have fun and learn how to PVP. If you find your having a hard time group up with people. Figure out how to fight, then learn to adjust your build. That is probably the funniest part of the game is tweaking your build. Never stop thinking about how you can make your build better, and when you don't know the answer ask. I speak from experience, as I feel I'm kind of OP for having 221 CP on PS4 from all the tweaking I have done. But I am confident that feeling won't last long, people will catch up.

    Just enjoy the game.

Just play through the game if you feel like pvping go into a non vet campaign.

When your vet 1, stay in pve until your vet 3 also find yourself a decent build as the game gets harder.

Unlike the pc, not everyone has 400+ cp , eso on console haven't been out long so i'd say the average level right now is about vet 3-5?

Though there are those pc tranfers (whom i call easy moders) that are around.

    accoun agree?

While to an extent I have to agree with this but to expect a person to simply accept a handicap because the game allowed players to do something that made no sense in a game that is fairly split between its pvp/pve modes. I dont disaprove of palyers making the transfer to ps4 from pc but for them to allow a full years account walk over with them put the fresh players at an unnatural disadvantage. With that said op, get gud lol I am a fresh player as well for the ps4 and im still win some loose some. My pals DK easily 1v3's and can stare down the now copy pasted stam night blades running around. My stam nightblade actually uses restoration/bow tabs i play support dps so even though im not one shotting no one around me getting a free heal minds one bit.

Most of those who took the time to honestly answer your question hit the nail on the head with competitive being too general of a statement to answer fully.

The average level is way below Vr3-5

Last week only about 5% of console players had reached Vr1 according to the publically viewable achiements (on the playstation I believe)

Dont forget millions of people play this game. While you may be in that level range, the fact that the average person you see if Vr 3-5 is because you run where that level of person is going to be found.

You'll never have as many c.p s. And always a years less experience than PC transfer scrub lords ( not all are scrubs but the ones lording it in vet campaign s are). But skill always shines through I'm taking out v14s regular as a v5 nightblade can't wait to get Max rank and gear sets I want . I say get it and if you roll eu ps4 dagger fall we'll have you for much tea/team bagging shenanigans. As many have said, you'll never compete 1vs1 with a pc transfer with hundreds of CP. But, you'll be fine against the other players since launch, I'm a vet 5 and fights with anyone 30-50 can be pretty difficult if they've spent skill/attribute points wisely

Join a guild, play in a group. Whether you die more than kill or not, you'll still enjoy the game.

Get in a non vet campaign Don't be afraid to spend a few thousand te respec if you need to.

Well... If you play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, never sleep, eat or go to the bathroom, in about 2 or 3 months, you might get somewhere close to where the level of most PvPers are at and then, maybe, you'll be competitive. Of course, even after all of that, all of them will have gotten even better and still outrank you, but...

If you only want to do pvp you will miss out on a lot of skill points in pve from quests and sky shards. Play the game how you wish and get a group of people in pvp to have more fun.

PVP is mostly about your build out and you can find new vet1 taking out vet14s.
