Purchasing through steam and Beta account compatibility

I played during the free trial period of 1 week a while ago that was offered to beta testers. I ended up not buying the game as I was going under some PC renovation at the time. I have my new build and am finally ready to play again.

This means that I need to buy the game, as I was on a free trial previously. I noticed that the game is currently on sale for $40 on steam for the next 11 hours. My question is that if I buy the game through steam, will I be able to play with my current account? I got pretty far in that 1 week trial period and don't want to start over.

Thanks!

The clarify, my current ESO account DOES NOT have a purchased copy of the game as of yet. Is there a way for me to take advantage of this steam sale and still be able to use my old account?

Steam Accounts are separated from the other PC Accounts. So, your going to have to start over if you want to buy it from Steam.

Now, I have Steam and I have this game, but I don't have them connected and I can't see any reason to do so.You can add the game as a Non Steam Game and get all the features that you would if you bought the game from Steam. There are no Steam Achievements with the game.

So, really, there is no reason to buy it through Steam if your concerned about progress that you have already made.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I read on another forum post that was similar that you could buy the steam game, recover the game code (from steam) and input it on the ESO website as a promo code. This allows you to use your steam copy of the game with your previous ESO account.

Is this still possible? I only have enough money set aside to buy one copy of the game, so I need to make sure this works
