LOL I've been saying NOOOOO for the longest time, and to be honest, I still feel that way, even just a little bit.

But I saw a video today and immediately told myself; "I want this to happen in Tamriel. Like, yesterday."

My guess is that a flying mount in ESO, would be only for animation, like the mount are only hover above the ground, I dont think it will be possible to fly over houses and stuff. But yeah it would be awesome

I would love to see the zones from above like this, however sadly I don't think the game was designed with flying mounts in mind.

something tells me that the invisible ceiling isnt very far up, and with all the other things we watch them do, they could probably have it completed in about 4 years

Is there anyway that it could be done without breaking "lore"? We need a "lore" expert to weigh in on this one.

Since ESO is set 1000 years before Skyrim when there are no dragons they can't add those.

And Griffins are so "WOW".

What could they add that would work?

A smaller version of Bogdan? Summon a flying Daedra to take you where you want? A wamasu with wings? A winged Welwa?

EQ2 and I think WoW have flying mounts that were added to the game, no reason ESO couldn't do it too just do we really need it? Not sayin I'm against it though I do enjoy the flying mount mechanic.

It would be cool but I'm not sure what mounts would fit into the world properly. Hell, I'll just settle for more regular mounts available via gold purchase first.

FFXIV is a great game. Will play again if they adopt the ESO Sub model.

I think ESO is way more entertaining though. The clicky click combat of the older MMOS is an absolute snore fest.

There aren't really that many large flying creatures at all. Dragons and titans are about it. Dragons, even if they were around, are too proud/dangerous to let you ride them, and titans are creations of Molag Bal, so I wouldn't see them letting you ride them either.

From a lore perspective then, it doesn't sound like we will ever get any. With the way travel is setup now, I am ok with that. It would have been cool to seen Tamriel from the birds eye view but not a game breaking.

Maybe @ZOS could give us a few quests where we "morph" into a bird having to fly into an otherwise unreachable location. Then get the wayshrine there for any future travel. That would be pretty cool...

Or better yet, the location is Daedra controlled and we have to go liberate it. We are transformed into a flying Titan to get there and reverted back to our normal selves upon landing.

Dear Zos,

Please don't devote any more resources to any type of mounts - flying, crawling, diving, slithering, galloping, or anything else.....Until the game as it exists now is FIXED.

I'd trade the mounts we have now for lag-free PvP.

Sunbirds, perhaps.
Which is just a fancy word for space ship, really.
So, probably not.

Might just as well add Dwemer airships at that point.

I think that ESO has very little reason to add flying mounts. The PvE zones are highly compressed in terms of size and you have wayshrines everywhere for instant back and forth travel. And there is also a lot lost with flying mounts. You fly up, go to dest, then fly down. You no longer explore. And even WoW tried to get back that sense of size and exploration of the world by not having flying in their new zones last expansion.

All that being said, now if there was a zone dedicated to flying? Maybe something in obliviion or similar? That would be cool. But not in tamrial.

I want GLIDING in Tamriel, as opposed to a flying mount. Let me try to climb as high as I can and just soar in a decline to the ground. Sight seeing and a fun little mini-game to see how far I can get.

If they added flying mounts they would follow the same rules the other mounts follow. It would be funny reading the qq of people upset their mounts merely skim accros the ground.

I couldn't agree with you more! The problem is that ZOS will NOT follow this advice because Mounts "Sell" plain and simple. Since they will continue to keep adding these for sales, we might as well see if we can get something we want.

The zones do not run into one another properly enough for flying mounts to be implemented. The game simply doesn't work like that. There would not be enough room for flying in the game space.

Now, ask for a Silt Strider mount in deepest Morrowind and we may be onto something.

Should let you use them in pve whenever, but in pvp maybe make seperate dlc for it? Like flying mount battles :P or make them a really high cost 'siege' weapon where they drop flaming oil, small rocks, or large rocks to damage keeps or troops.

Last I heard Blizzard admitted that flying mounts were detrimental to WOW and suggested that future expansions won't have flying access.
