Hitting Vet-Ranks soon - Cadwells Silver/Gold needed?

Hey Folks,

I'm a new player on PS4 and I will hit veterean ranks "soon". I read a lot about grinding cadwells gold/silver etc. for veteran ranks, but what exactly is that?
My plan was to go to all the other alliances and watch their zones and explore them, I dont really care about it, if cadwellsg old is 5 days faster or not.

So my question is, am I missing any1 if I'm going to lvl through Quests at the other alliance zones (skillpoints etc.?) or what is cadwells silver/gold, is it worth it, do I have to do it?

Cadwells silver/gold are used to determine which area you belong. When you complete cadwells silver you will be sent to another alliance where you can finish cadwells gold.

The silver and gold are main quests from each alliance that you will need to complete before moving on to a another alliance (besides the completion of gold since they're no more alliances).

Gold and silver is where you go to the other factions and level so you are on the right track. Silver was originally meant to be for V1 to V5 content and gold was V6 to V10. It's only worth doing if you want the extra skill points and want to continue questing. Otherwise you can just grind in craglorn or do PVP to get to V14.

You don't need to do these areas but are missing out on a lot of exploration if skipped. My wife and I really enjoyed these areas so if you like questing, go for it. It's a lot of fun but only if you already like the quests.

If your plan is to adventure in other alliance zones, that will be doing Caldwell's silver and gold. After finishing the main quest you will be given access to another alliance area. Your cadwells almanac will list the quests that must be completed jn each zone to progress. They make up the main story for that faction. Just like in your "home" zones, you can do as many or as few side quests as you want.

After finishing the quests listed for silver you will be given access to the final alliance's zones, and begin cadwell's gold. You can only access all three zones by finishing silver, but you don't have to finish the gold list if you don't want. The world can be freely explored once you start gold.

You HAVE to do Silver quests to get to Gold zones.....I recommend doing so at a minimum. There's a lot of good XP in Gold zones, plus skyshards and grinding areas.

Edit: If you have CPs or a friend to run with Silver quests can be done very quickly (~4-5hrs)

Silver is a quest encompassesing the main storyline of your second alliance. Gold is the third alliance, you get access after finishing Silver. So if you planned to quest in other factions, this is exactly what Silver and Gold are for. :)

The bold part really isn't good advice. I mean, you can level by grinding in Craglorn or by doing PVP, but the XP is (currently) much better in the silver and gold zones, so you're making it harder on yourself if you skip them to level by one of those methods. Having said that, doing PVE in Cyrodiil (doing the daily quests and grinding mobs in some of the delves) is probably a faster way of earning XP, but it comes with the risk of being ganked by enemy players.

My advice: at a minimum do all of the Cadwell's Silver & Gold quests that are marked in Cadwell's Almanac, and if you find you're enjoying your VR questing in those zones, just go ahead and do everything. Doing everything is what I do, and I enjoy it (despite the fact that I've already done all of those quests on other characters).

If you don't go into silver and gold zones you will miss out on 57.3 skill points from skyshards plus about 3 or 4 skill points per zone which comes out to say 15 skill points per alliance that's almost 90 skill points you will be down by not going into silver and gold. To me that is worth questing, I actually like questing.
