PC. You'll be glad you did, and not just because of the graphics.

    ESO on PC:

    Better graphics
    Test Server
    Addons
Text chat and voice chat (Teamspeak, etc...)
    First updates and DLC
Easier to trade and find groups
Controller support with the next update

    ESO on Console:

    No addons
    No text chat
Harder to trade and find groups
Gets updates and DLC after PC
You get the joy of listening to crying kids, barking dogs, and crappy music while you play

    The choice is obvious.

My vote is PC if you have the money, it is entirely worth it for this game and any other.

You can still use a controller, you can still plug into your tv and sit on the sofa/recliner/bed

You can have addons to fill what the game lacks

All you can do is gain with PC ;)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say there are probably more players on console, but PC has plenty of players and you'll be able to trade and find groups and do whatever you want.

likely not at the moment with the new rush of consoles, and the drought on PC. ESO will never give us the #'s. However, "I" at least believe that PC gamers stick with it a lot longer than console players. (speaking of any game in general and just "imo" ofc)

Edit: I will say when I bought a second account this past week, I saw just as many players running around Bleakrock as I did at launch. A lot of people must have gotten hold of that sale.

This is ridiculous that it's this way but true us ppl that play eso on console get treated like garbage

Graphics depend on hardware not just owning a PC, Console over all has quicker access to DLC in a lot of games, and if PC had open chat you'd hear all the same bull. While I enjoy this game on PC some games are more fun on console so the choice is not "obvious" but your bias is.

The OP's question is in reference to ESO, not other console games. First of all, the OP said he has the money for a gaming rig, hence the better graphics. PC gets updates and DLC first. Where are your XP scrolls, potions, and perfect roe console players? Imperial City also launches on PC more than two weeks before console.

I migrated from PC to PS4 ... the gameply style is different, and I sorely miss my SkyShards and Lore Books map add-ons. I also miss guild text chat to arrange trades/groups however I made the choice to switch to console as I am a casual player and controller play was something I enjoyed with a few PS3 games.

The graphics are fine on PS4, I had to run lower level graphics on my PC to avoid lag anyway.

    Its a personal choice.

The main issue now is that the PC account and PS4 account is not synchronised. Change platform and you start again.
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Well this game is absolutely thriving on consoles atm. Ps4 myself. I'm certain the overall experience is more fleshed out on the PC though. Unless you have a crappy one that can barely play wow or something. :D

Graphics will depend on the specs of the PC. If its a beast then maybe better graphics.

I have compared the two with what I have.

My core i7, 512 mb vid, 8 gb ram PC did not look as good as it does on my Xbox one, but a better PC might.

    This very much.

Not knocking the PS4 version players either , I wanted to play on both , but the lack of text chat is a killer for me.

And it all depends on your situation on what you can afford to spend on the PC.

I've got it running on a BenQ 3201 4k with SLI Titan X's and everything max'd and it's ridiculous the difference between that and 1080p.

That being said I was impressed with what they managed to get out of the PS4 version looks wise , the man downside is being 30 fps , just used to 60fps myself , but it still looks good on the PS4.

I have a few friends who switched from console to pc due to the lack of features mentioned above.

They definately prefer it. With pc getting controller support and console not getting text anytime soon I may switch as well.

No and no, if PC had open chat, they'll just disable it. Text Chat only > Voip only.

he's spending about 2k on a gaming PC, that's more then enough to get a rig that plays ESO on high settings smoothly especially if he's building it himself.

Oh hands down then PC. I missed the 2000.00 part. You're borderline into fluid 4k mode there and well into max'd out 1440p still under budget.

To be honest if you have $2000 then you will have a fantastic pc, the only thing that turned me off from pc is that for some pcs you have to upgrade the pc whenever a new game comes out, that has new details. But you shouldn't have any worry.

look i am trying not to start a flame war, i have upto $2000 on a gaming pc. I played on ps4 for like 4 weeks and noticed most places were empty except for daggetfall obviously. but are the places in PC more populated?

Once you get into the silver zones it can be desolate. But nearly anywhere else? You're going to be seeing players all over the place.

You can get away from the crowds as you move further into the game, but, no there are a lot of players out there.

Nothing is really populated these days. I mean, starter zones tend to have people looking to group in pledges, but I don't really see more than a handful of people out in the PvE areas anymore. I'm sure they are in instanced group dungeons somewhere.

As for which is better, if you can get the recommended specs for the game, then PC is better.

I would never ever get a PC for one game. But it is better on a PC unless you get a crappy one. And once you get a PC there are so many more games you should be playing on the PC.

I'm not sure how to dumb this down for you further. PC and console gamers are both loud, obnoxious, and petty. I was merely trying to point that you only don't hear it but rather see it in text. I was not recommending either platform for the thread owner, only pointing out the flawed logic of another forum jockey and why in comparison to gaming overall it is not an "obvious choice".
