How do we know if the system is down or not?

Trying to play a game of ESOTU. I can't log in, it keeps saying "LOGIN FAILED Connection to server timed out. Please try again later". Before it wouldn't load any announcements but now the announcements load but can't get to my character screen. It keeps loading for a few minutes then get the same message over and over again.

Is this a fault at my end or is the servers down? If so how can we know if they are down or not? I see no maintenance is scheduled until Tuedsay so my guess is the system is down. If the system is not down, am I the only one being effected or there are others who can't log on as well?

It's not just at your end, I'm also unable to sign in & getting the "LOGIN FAILED Connection to server timed out. Please try again later" message.

the only thing is to wait and keep trying. PS4 gets this once in a while too and you just have to like i said wait a hour or so or just keep trying until it finally logs you in.

if the announcments are showing now its a good chance it will start letting you log in again.

again this is only from experience from PS4 use on my end.

sometimes console system just craps out :P

Xbox Live is being stupid right now. Give it an hour or so, then try again.

Thank you everyone. A bit frustrating when I just bought the game the other day and I can't play it.

I can't believe something actually got me to stop playing Witcher 3. I never thought I would say it, but I am having a blast playing ESOTU on the Xbox One. So I am jonsing now by not playing ESOTU.
