yet no duels for open world... is it that hard? aside from worrying about balancing, lets try to add dueling for everyone first:)

By asking if it's hard you make it sound like you assume ZOS really wants to do it, but they're somehow incapable of programming it.

I think it's much more likely they have decided they don't want people to be able to duel outside of PvP and haven't even tried to put it into the game.

How do you see duelling in this game atm?

The current meta is full of damage shields, blocking and roll dodging.

The new update is going to fix some issues, however im sure that people will find a way to become more survivable thus duels still being very long and boring.

If they wanted to put dueling in the game, they would have done it at release.

I think it's cool that people have to get creative in Cyrodil with dueling guilds, makes it less dry.

With the upcoming changes to multi-faction dungeon grouping, maybe this will be a possibility down the road. They are probably considering the effects something like that would have on general gaming. A lot of players want duels, but no one wants the side effects that come with it. You just know that there will be "those" types of players who will duel inside of banks and other common areas just to be annoying, and I'm sure there are several players that would find a way to grief it.

The only way that it would work is to make it optional. For example, a setting in the game options that allows you to choose to receive, or completely ignore, duel requests. The areas in which duels can take place would have to be limited, such as not inside of banks, crafting areas, etc...

Is it possible for 2 friends from different alliances to enter the same PvP map? If so then you could work out a place to meet and duel.

I think a good way to compromise between those who want duels and those who don't could be to add arenas to parts of the world.

Not necessarily all big, purpose built ones like the one in the Imperial City (not sure if that's been built yet or not). Some could be as simple as a bare space outside a guard barracks or camp where NPCs and players can spar for fun or practice. You have to speak to an NPC to start, and either choose a partner or have one assigned to you (details to be worked out later) and then you fight.

If you don't want to participate you simply don't sign up and then all duelists remain friendly, can't attack you and you can't attack them.

As an extra precaution they could add them only to Cyrodiil, so there's still no PvP of any kind in PvE zones. But it would be a way for players to duel with friends in the same alliance.

Yes, I have two accounts with PvP toons in different factions and I meet them up in Cyrodiil to test out skills and builds.

people like you who qqs about current state of pvp keeps us away from getting duel content.. dueling has no rewards but just plain pvp while your questing, waiting for queue in dungeons, openworld content that eso has but lacks pvp

Good to know. It sounds like a good way to hone your PvP skills.
