Newb needs help

Just bought this game ,got myself the Imperial edition, and made myself an Imperial Templar. That said I dunno what I am doing and don't really know what kind of builds are viable and what "classes" are best suited, or ideal, for what rolls etc

I want to solo pve mostly..I want to be able to do as much content solo without the need to look for a group etc and plan on trying to do all the quests etc

I would like maybe a few characters:

~ a sword n board type ................thinking this should be my templar?
~ a dual wield melee type
~ a caster type

Also I think my templar will also be a blacksmith and ? ............ give me a suggestion for another craft

As for builds from what have read we have like 285 skill points without doing pvp right?
Does this give you enough points to max out everything...is that even possible?

I am at lvl 8 right now and still have like 8 skill points to use I also have put two stat point into stamina and the rest into health, I can't seem to find any good sword and board templar builds for solo pve though. I did find a couple but they seemed caster oriented or group dependent. I did find Deltias gaming site..any good? He seems to have a caster templar ~ Omega templar and a sword and board templar ~ Shredder build but the shredder seems pvp orenited would it be any good for pve?

Any ideas?

Even with the skills from leveling in Cyrodiil and the skyshards you find there, which total out to something like 60 skill points, you're somewhere around 100 skill points short of being able to max out everything. So no, it's not possible. But it's still a crapton of skill points. Probably enough to max out everything you could possibly consider and have some left over if you're not gonna make a single character to do all your crafting on.

With my Templar I ran 5 heavy armor pieces, 2 light armor pieces (belt and head for looks), put all my stat points into magicka. Enchanted my head, chest and leg pieces with health and the rest with magicka, used Sword and Board and spammed Puncturing Sweep (magicka morph of Puncturing Strikes). Later on you can use a restoration staff as your second set for some wicked off-healing. With your restoration staff you cast Force Siphon on bosses, wreck them with Puncturing Sweep and you won't lose any health.

You'll be invincible, be a good PvE tank and PvP healer, and be able to solo all PvE content.

Make sure you craft yourself a Seducer armor set as fast as you can (3 traits need to be researched on 5 armor pieces), it'll make a large difference. Also use magicka jewels with spell cost reduction glyphs.

For your skill bar, I suggest

Sword & Shield:
1. Deep Slash (solo)/Pierce Armor (group tank)
2. Puncturing Sweep
3. Shielded Assault
4. Blazing Shield
5. Whatever

Restoration Staff:
1. Siphon Spirit
2. Breath of Life
3. Repentance
4. Extended Ritual
5. Whatever

Trust me you will have a lot of fun this way, you can tweak and change the build to your own likings ofc.

Google: ESO: Imperial Templar BUILDS.

I bet you get something. I do several hours of research before starting a new character, and there are at least 5-6 websites available that deal in different character builds.

And I also suggest that you look at more than one website that has your builds, because sometimes they don't agree on the same thing, and you have to break the tie.

By the way, forget what you learned in previous games. For example, in ESO you can tank as a sorceress. You can wear heavy armor and use staffs, etc. And be careful what armor you use, make sure you check out the passives associated with that armor, otherwise you may use points in something you later decide you don't want.

And last, later in the game, you can - for the right amount of gold - get your skill points back, and re-allocate them if you're not satisfied.

And I forgot, as a Templar you can be melee or a caster, tank, and/or heal.
