Which do you think is more important in PVP?

1) Having more skill than your enemy

2) Having more champion points than your enemy

    First of all, you could have created an actual poll. Second, we don't need yet another "skill" vs champion points whine thread.

    This.

    Ontop of that glaring flaw, it's missing a ton of options too, and a "None of the Above" option for people to write their own.
    English is not my first language, Finnish is.

    The potato. It is all about the potato. No more, no less.

    This non-poll poll is biased.
    If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

    I want to thank the OP for posing the most compelling and original poll question I've read in...minutes.

    Now, I don't know what these "champion points" he speaks of are, but skill has the word "kill" in it. Since that's what I try to doin PVP, that seems like the right choice. But I have a fast car, that factors in somehow, right?

    Gear, then class.

    Just roll a nightblade vampire and you can faceroll everything. You can one shot everything and nobody can target you because you're only showing up unstealthed for split seconds at a time.

    @SourishWhale

    I'm sorry :( Okay, Potato = Both. (and more)

    Anyone who tells you the guy with 50 CP can beat the guy with 500 on skill "alone" is a liar. (in most cases, assuming 500 CP player isn't a complete noob)

    Skill matters. Skill + the right CP allotment and you will beat they guy with just pure skill. Nor could 500 CP just create skill.

    it's a bit of both. (imo ofc)

    Let's just be cereal for one second, as I am curious;

    If you say champion points aren't important, then why is it that everybody spends most of the their time in game grinding to get them?

    It's quite puzzling to me.

    Because as a VR14, having completed all trials and dungeons, and with no new content for the past several months, I have nothing better to do than grind Champion Points.

    Seems like an endless loop kind of thing. Everyone grinds CP to avoid being left behind in the CP grind, which causes others to grind CP.

    Aion would be proud.

    In a large scale war, individual skill of the foot soldiers matters very little. Tactics and strategy, the ability to follow a plan and communicate, these things have more influence on the outcome of the battle. There are very few 1v1 situations and no formal dueling in ESO so the skill vs CP discussion is largely meaningless in Cydrodiil, which is a long way from the noise and bleating of the forums

    Who is this 'everybody' you speak of? Show me this 'everybody'. Did you conduct a comprehensive poll of all players across all platforms to arrive at this information? Are you somehow able to simultaneously observe all players across all alliances in game at the same time and see what activity they are engaged in at any given time? What data are you relying on to say that everybody spends most of their time grinding CP?

    Absolutely no one I know in game has CP grind as their focus.

    Well, anyone who does have CP grind as their sole focus now won't have to for long, once ZOS puts in the CP free campaigns!

    Our new focus will be VR16, Tel Var stones, and new gear grind when the Imperial City update is live.

    Our new focus will be VR16, Tel Var stones, and new gear grind when the Imperial City update is live.

    VR1-16 will supposedly take less time than VR1-VR14, and is a visible and less daunting goal for new players.

    Tel Var stones are part of the new PvP system, which makes them infinitely more interesting to gather than grinding frogs and zombies for hours upon hours upon hours upon hours upon hours on end.

    The new gear grind will pretty much fit into the flow of the above, and is again a more visible and less daunting goal for new players.

    EDIT: Plus, lowbies won't be worried about any of that. They'll just be happy to have a more balanced non-vet pvp to play in.

    *Everybody = Anyone who is serious about PVP.

    Sorry, I thought that would have been obvious given this is a PVP thread.
