PC Gamer, Console Gamer, or just Gamer? Which does ZOS work for?

DISCLAIMER:
In this post I will mention specific things which are specific to one platform or another.
And, I will mention certain things that are available on one platform, and not another.
This post is NOT a post lobbying/asking for individual features.
It is merely a post asking for equal features across all platforms.

I have a dream of a time when ALL ESO Platforms are treated equally.
When PC has optional controller support. (Which is already being used by ESO Employees in their offices, and is being added "soon" as a "Beta" feature.)
When Consoles have optional add-on support. (Which since Fallout4 will have add-on support on consoles maybe afterwards ESO will be able to have it.)
And, when all ESO Players can enjoy the game the way THEY want to enjoy it.
Sounds like Heaven, does it not?

Now, on to my real point with this thread...
In today's "Quakecon Presentation" it was stated that controller support was being added to the PC version so that it would be fair to "pc-couch-gamers" to be able to use a controller and play the game from the comfort of their couch.
So, ZOS must have finally realized that "PC does NOT equal desk", and "console does NOT equal couch".
That either, or both, are very real playstyles.
So, why is ZOS refusing to allow certain things on the console version that the PC version has.
But, then allows the PC version to have the MAIN thing that makes console play unique?

What is so hard about making every platform equal to the others?
Why should a customer have to choose which platform to play based ENTIRELY upon ingame options?
I am NOT talking about things like Frames Per Second/Graphics Quality/Etc , or anything else that is inherently PC or Console specific due to platform abilities/weaknesses.
I am talking about IN GAME OPTIONS.
I feel that ZOS, themselves, have to stop thinking that gaming is either "PC Gaming", or "Console Gaming", and just treat us all like "Gamers".
And, in doing so, give us ALL the same Options in their game.

I play console but don't do so on a couch. I'm actually pretty close to the screen like 4-5feet. Which if it were on PC would equal the distance from person sitting at desk compared to the size of their monitor.
I can easily have a keyboard plugged in sitting on my lap or on the desk next to my 50" TV.
