I am fairly new to Elder Scrolls Online. It just came to my attention that their are a lot of skill trees. I was just wondering if you were able to max out every single tree or is their a limit to the amount of skill points you receive?
Well, with effort there are enough quests and skyshards in the game to max out everything (I believe). But why would you want to max out stuff you'd never use? You should save some skill points for when they add updates that require a point or two.
Now, it does not make sense to put skill points into everything all at once, even though you could eventually do that.
But, it is a very good idea to level each combat and armor skill up to at least 40, if not 50. You certainly want 50 in each Class Skill line. This way you can respec into a different role or chase the flavor of the month for builds as they change the balance of the game. Then all your doing is respeccing, not spending time Grinding.
So, while leveling if you get a skill to 50, use another one. Put all 3 types of armor on so those all level up. Set yourself up to be Versatile, then you can be Agile, Mobile and Hostile in any way you want end game.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"
Total skill points in the game is, I believe, 330.
You can certainly max out your class skill lines and 2 or 3 weapon choices, plus Mages, Fighters, Undaunted and Alliance War skill lines. It also depends on how much crafting you intend to do as those require skill points as well.
You'll have to make some choices but there's plenty to do what you need to.

You can max out everything + 2 crafting trees I think.
So you can have almost everything......but sacrifice some stuff.
I would just not invest point into anything you don't really need or wont use.
