Is zenimax discriminating against deaf people on consoles by not adding text chat

You chose to play on consoles, which is automatically inferior. When you take something from PC to console, it has to be downgrade, things need to be taken out, etc. small things like text chat, etc. are not needed for virtually all console players, but unfortunately some are negatively affected by that. You need to understand that very small minorities will not get special treatment at times, and that money will not be put aside for some to just redo parts of a game / product.

You dont have to knowningly discriminate to discriminate. In this case they have the means for communication for the deaf and mute on their PC version. The argument can be made that there is no good reason for that to have been removed since deaf and mute individuals own Consoles.

TESO has average requirements, if you can't afford a computer that can run this game, you should have saved up instead of buying the game..

But yes, as you failed to realize, the console version is a simpler version. You will not / never see some conveniences that are on PC. This game was made for PC.

This is the worst way to get them to add text chat in game. They should add it because players ask for it not because you're trying to make them feel bad.

Would it be nice if they did this in a specific attempt to help out hearing-impaired players? I guess so, but you might as well just help everyone at the same time.

Do I believe that the lack of text chat is a discriminatory action on Zenimax's behalf? No. No I do not.

We are not saying that it's okay, just that if you have a disability, then it may take a bit more time on your behalf to do some research into games that you are playing to make sure that they work with your disability. If the console version didn't include something that helps you out, then maybe this wasn't the game for you at this point in time.

Take some personal responsibility for not doing your research ahead of time. It is not like Zenimax kept the lack of text chat on consoles private. It was well known before the game released on consoles that it would not have that feature.

When an OP starts off by using inflammatory language, it is likely that the responses won't be the best.

For instance, if the OP had come here and said the following:

"Hello everyone,

I (or a friend of mine) am hearing-impaired. I am finding that playing this game on consoles is very tough for me without having text chat. Do you think it would be a good idea if this feature was added to the game? I know that it would help me out a lot."

If it was like that, I bet you the responses would have been full of people linking in Devs and forum mods and people telling the Developers that this is another reason why text chat should have been added from day 1.

Instead, look at what happened.
