^the game wouldn't stagnate. There'd be new content, new features, new gear. But it'd all be OPTIONAL so we don't have to take a kick on the ass. I'd love to work on my second character more.

So what difference is there to you between progressing by hitting new quests, versus progressing via grinding out gold for new gear, versus progressing via grinding out levels, versus progressing via grinding out raid runs, versus progressing via grinding out stealing from NPC's for skill lines?

The leveling curve and long-term power gain in ESO is about as flat as it gets for an MMORPG. Look no further than World of Wombats for a prime example of why.

Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

It's all part of being an mmorpg my man, there will always be raised level caps and new gear to earn in every dlc.

Actually they said they were removing vet ranks. But only after we grind two more levels and get new gear and upgrade them to yellow at 8 tempers a piece...

Eventually Vet Cap will be raised to 20. At that point your character achieves CHIM and ascends to Godhead to kick back with Talos, Vivec, and Budda on the clouds or something. Then the end credits roll, the end.

You turn the game off, look around at the empty mountain dew bottles, hot pocket wrappers, and think "maybe I should start an alt."

people might hate veteran levels less...if they were not forced into doing cadwell's silver and gold to do them.

see, the way i see it, the cadwell's silver and gold chains were supposed to be an *optional* things. someone at ZoS had the thought
"gee, there are some players that refuse to ever make alts. they allways want to do everyhting in a game with just one charater, but in a factions based game, you cant do that....hm... maybe if we added a way for them to do the other two factions storylines, they would all come play our game instead"

then the game was launched and had no endgame stuff. everyone got to lvl 50 and finished the main storyline for their chars and started asking for more stuff. so they took what should have been an optional part of the game, and made it obligatory.

everyone else that makes alts, well we have a character in each faction do to that. i did that. even back in beta when there were no vr levels, players had alts to see the other factions storylines. and i remember people asking for a way to have everything on one toon. so they added in VR levels but instead of leaving the quests for silver and gold as optional, they make *everyone* do them, to give themselves time to get craglorn out there.

i have 6 chars. i have chars in each of the 3 aliances. each character has to go do the same questline (main) that my alts have allready done, just to get high enough to do the craglorn areas. so if you have 8 characters you are doing 8x3 of the same stuff over and over. even if only 3 of them are mains and the rest are alts for banking/crafting, its still a lot of the same old stuff.

if there were alternative ways (that are questline based, not grind, pvp or similar) to get those VR levels, there mightnot have been so much hate for them from some people

    Too many replies and still don't know how to quote off my phone so I'll try and address a few things;

    1. No I wasn't saying bring on better gear I said new. Unique, optional items that have a drive for players to get but don't cause anyone to restart.

    2. New content or reasons for people to play can still be added without setting back a huge portion of the community while helping the beginners.

    3. They went back on their word. A whole lot of people thought vet levels would be gone or at least stay at 14 so invested in that level. It'd be a different story if they planned more from the beginning or said nothing at all. But this is just going to make so much time spent for nothing.

I just want consistently available and viable grind spots. The good ones are either hopelessly overrun or locked behind playgates, like Cadwell's. They really should have made Craglorn THE zone for all kinds of rewarding gameplay - questing, dailies, solo grinding, group delves, trials, etc - but 100% dropped the ball. The upcoming 20% experience boost will not change the current state of the zone one bit, it's just not enough.

Why this needs to be brought up again and again. Devs have said the plan is still to remove them. Also gear-grind as much fun its, its not good idea to add multiple new sets per year, so theres needs be on-going progression like CPs. I personally love how ESO does things, well, only thing I dont like, they didnt had balls to make gears obsolete, so that makes me believe they go with gear-upgrades, if gears become obsolete it means trolls leaves and thats only good thing, those who cry over some gears, needs to go.

Most players want them removed and definetly don't want more of a grind. New or not yet 14 players will get to 16 faster than we got to 14, and we'll also have to re-do all our hard earned purple/gold sets. It's completely unfair. Add more gear sure, more content? Hell yes, but enough of this please.

If anyone could link me deltias petition I'd really appreciate it.

Life's a b i t c h and then you die. >:) Kinda pointless thread here if you think it will have any impact on what ZOS does. You should know this by now if you are a VR14. The only choice here at happiness is to accept VR16 (and beyond) as reality and move on.

VR 16 really only makes sense if another DLC for PvE was coming with twice the amount of content for what Craglorn offers.
What happens now is VR1-5 are one faction, VR6-10 is the second and so what occurs now is a 6 VR level grind or Craglorn attempts until we get more content.

Because there is a lot of groaning and lack of excitement around post VR10 content adding two more VR levels amongst having added Champion Points comes across as a move in the wrong direction

Quite often it's....Are we being lied to again regarding the statement in 2014 that VR levels would be removed during an ESO Live episode from Matt F

Then there is confusion around the lowering of exp per VR level and increase of exp given for certain VR encounters which comes after a drastic decrease of exp given and an increase of the time it took to gain VR levels prior to the champion system.

Confusion and clarity is the topic at hand....let's keep discussing

It's a MMO and with all great MMO's comes a DLC and what does a new DLC bring REVENUE the game has to have income to progress forward or to stay online who care's what you invested in when playing a MMO you should know you invest in moving forward and to think I thought other games had forums with more complaints never seen one so sad with complaints towards a game wanting to grow rather then the rest who get complaints for not wanting to grow.
