Buying Crowns on XBOne with Gift Card

Hello,

I can't seem to find this anywhere, but I got my brother a gift card for his birthday so he could use it to buy crowns. There doesn't seem to be an option to buy crowns with money on his account other than via credit card. Is there a way to use this $25 in the crown store on the X Box One?

Yes depending on the type of gift card.
You do have to add the gift card first to the Xbox account so it's required that the gift card (not an Xbox gift card) be a visa, mC logo and that the gift card company allows online purchases.

I just used a Vanilla Gift card to buy crowns.

Step 1: go to the gift card website and register it (this is not activation but actually required to use most online)
Step 2: verify what info should be entered into Xbox (in my case the name was A Gift For You but the address was my address)
Step 3: make sure you did step 2 correctly
Step 4: your purchase cannot exceed the total tax amount of the gift card amount. (If your gift card is $25 then you need to purchase 1500 crowns and 750 rather than 3000. $24.99 plus tax exceeds the $25 on your gift card
Step 5: during check out, select to change the credit card and select the gift card credit card
