Sorcerers Advices & Tips

Hey,
I've been into the game for over a year now but been mostly playing a DK and from the last time I played sorcerer they underwent several changed AFAIK.
But now I'm rolling a sorc after playing sooo much of DK and I quite like it.
Therefore my question is what is their current state? What are your advices for somebody new to sorc (but not new to the game  ) I would gladly read anything. Attributes, morphs, builds, passives, how do you play your sorc in pvp or how do you try to counter him?

Also what weapons do you use? A definite choice was destruction staff, but what do you roll as secondary?

Thanks

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

I run destro on both bars

Bar1 - single dps - hardened ward - entropy - inner light - liquid L - crystal frags (procs alot)
    Bar2 - AoE - hardened ward - inner L - liquid L - liquid F - impulse

    Bar1 - ulti - overload
    Bar2 - meteor

    Bar 3 - hardened ward - inner light - liquid L - liquid F - mages fury

    Both destro nirnhoned fire sticks

Set is combi of skoria - healer - torugh - adtroitness

    5 light / 1 heavy / 1 medium

If you have a good healer, I swap hardened wards for surge on bar 2.

^ plus food + mages stone + arcane on all armour + cost reduction on rest

    Still playing around with CP.

Thanks Tantalia, yeah I've watched some of Deltia's sorc builds, I'll look into it more.

I use Deltia's ignition sorc build for 2.0. I feel like a total badass when I'm fighting, though I am pretty squishy.
Somewhere someone is practicing, if you are not and you should meet, you will lose.

If you go destro, you naturally go light armor(I use 6 light 1 heavy usually), stack spelldamage(you can and should get it to ~2k unbuffed at v14 at least), possibly but not necessarily use Valkyn Skoria 2 pc. Skill wise, Crushing Shock(I <3 interrupts but suppose you can go with the other morph if you really want, one that does a bit more damage), Liquid Lightning(or the other morph) for DoT, Cryst Frags(on proc), Entropy for spelldmg buff, Inner Light(alternatively you can pop spell damage pots that also give you spellcrit, but Inner Light also gives 8% more magicka). Impulse for AoE and I do use Hardened Ward a lot, especially when AoEing trash though technically if you have good healer and tank you can do without it. Oh and execute, whichever morph.

Meteor is a wonderful ulti, Overload is an extremely buggy yet situationally OP one, just bash out of the heavy attack it decides to do instead of light every once in a while. Also keep in mind Overload has its own bar.

Pets are mildly useless in most groups situations, but Twilight can dish out pretty nice dps provided no one so much as sneezes in her direction(she has 10k health); you'll have to slot her on all your bars so she doesn't disappear as you swap though.

If you PvP, you'll want to Bolt Escape a lot and stack shields. Sorc are really strong in PvP right now.

    Have fun!;)

QFT ... Deltia has a great PvP spec on Sorc too ... with being V11 I have serious trouble levelling any ability that I have to re-morph for PvP, so I don't have ability to properly PvP spec my dedicated PvE ... but I indulged and created a new Breton sorc toon last night to very specifically level PvP abilities early.

I suck at PvP so I need the practice, although I dread the fact that I have minimal CP's to buff a low level toon ... simply wish I could choose a CP free non-vet campaign

Why would you put hardened ward on both bars. It's not a toggle. Waste of a skill slot.

master's greatsword, 5x ravaging, 5x hunding's rage medium. Bound Armaments, Brawler, Critical Rush, Executioner, Forward Momentum. When you see an enemy just hit Critical Rush and you'll see your character charge to the enemy while your screen turns black and white and then the death recap pop up.

    True but

    1) I'm not a swap bar master and often lose time doing so. Sometimes, it doesn't register well.

    2) 1 -> loss of dps - hence my choice but you're absolutely right. I could swap hardened on bar 2 with surge. Run hardened on bar 1, swap to 2 and then run my routine. Or maybe entropy would be better then. I'll give it (another) try :-)

I use flame destro staff and a resto staff on backup as I tend to solo things most of the time so I need to self heal. Since I solo I have both summons on my first bar (twilight matriarch and clannfear) and clannfear on my 2nd bar so when I switch to heal, he's still fighting. Force pulse and crystal frags are my main forms of attack. I also mix in some endless fury when enemies health are low for obvious reasons as well as to utilize the passives from that skill line. Energy Overload is my ultimate. I spent 10 points on health and 21 in magic.
I wear light armor and use an Altmer for the passives.

I don't PvP but this setup gets me by just fine, I'm currently lvl 31 and have been handling boss fights and public dungeons by myself without too much trouble (much easier then my Redguard nightblade of the same lvl)
