I am trying out a DW stamina based DPS NB. Which skills are the better opener: the teleport strike morphed into ambush (assassination tree) or shadow cloak combined with veiled strike (or morphed into surprise attack)

Always go for Surprise Attack from stealth if it's reasonable to get off, ambush if the mobs are set up in a way that getting into melee range without detection is unlikely.

Also depends on whether this is for pvp or pve.

You can cloak past the mobs then wait till stealth the supprise attack in pve

For pvp allway go for stealth supprise attack from behind for the 3x damage if you cant ambush cloak then supprice fore two stuns and 30% more damage on you supprice attack
