Question about IC and Vr 15-16 Gear

So I'm aware that special sets and an IC only crafting station will be able to do Vr15-16 gear, what I've not yet seen is whether or not we will be able to craft vr15-16 armor in the normal styles or will we only be able to get that gear by crafting in IC or finding it in there as well.

When VR levels were increased earlier, crafting was upped accordingly. I presume it happens again and we can craft vr16 items on all stations. No guarantees though.

Finding the materials will be IC exclusive, i think. In the ESO Live i saw a glimpse of new materials and rune stones in TV stone shop. I believe there will be a new tier of materials above voidstone, voidcloth, nightwood and kuta/kura for vr15..16.

I will be a bit disappointed if that's the case, I can see putting shiny new armors and sets behind the DLC paywall but stopping people from improving what they've got seems a tad confusing. We shall see I suppose.

You can craft up to VR16 at any Crafting Station. The new crafted set pieces will require the special crafting stations.

Not sure about all the places you can get the mats, it may be that IC is your best source so either go there or buy the mats from the Farmers. It was stated that there are no nodes to harvest in the IC, being a destroyed urban environment. So, I think the direct way is to get the Stones that you get as loot from the mobs, then buy the materials from game vendors.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It would seem that's the case, upon closer look at the most recent ESO live it would seem that the only way you can craft any gear at v15 and v16. Sad.

They have also said that there will be new crafting passives, presumably for the new crafting levels required to use the new materials.

I'd like to know how this will impact on writs. Currently the level of writ you receive is linked to you crafting level - and determines where you hand in writs. The new top level writs will surely require the new materials, otherwise they aren't top level. This means you either buy DLC or buy materials from guild vendors...

And where do you hand in writs? In a new area that you have to pay for? Scary...

I just hope that they don't add another level to the tempers - that would decimate the value of my stock overnight.

They're apparently adding VR10 potions also with a new ingredient. Does anybody have any info on that?

After looking more closely at the ESO live episode, it shows materials for Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Woodowrking, Clothier and Enchanter. I wouldn't be surprised if there was food around there somewhere as well. So it would appear that if you don't buy the DLC all but leveling will be gated in one way or another, and even then it will feel gated as there is nothing new to level.

As I've stated before, I am cool with the idea that there will be some special sets and motif styles locked off from those who don't buy (afterall, what's the point of the DLC if you aren't getting a fair bit of content for your money) but gating everything off is uncool. Everyone will be able to find the glass motif chapters but with how rare dropped motifs seem these days, it seems more to be a crown item than anything else.

As for enchanter specifically I couldn't tell if the new stones were just the level tiers or something else as they didn't hover over them in the demo. It would seem that the Kutas are safe.

With Rich Lambert saying publicly that this DLC is for the PvPers primarily, the decision to gate off progression from those who don't want that style of play seems a bit incongruous. The PvPers def. needed some love, and I know that PvE players got the undaunted stuff which PvP players felt they had to grind out but locking all higher tiered armors behind the walls of the IC is a bit much. No idea how quickly they intend to roll out content but I can't imagine we'll be seeing Orisinium until Nov or longer so that is quite a bit of time to be completely stopped progressing.

Hey there, just thought I'd throw this in...

Yes, the crafting materials (for equipment crafts) are being sold in IC. You can also deconstruct VR15-16 gear to get some of the mats. All dungeons/pledges (including ones you can do without IC) will start scaling to VR16 (so the mob loot dropped you can decon is VR16), as well you can get VR16 gear from the PvP mails (rewards for the worthy), and any materials purchased with Tel Ra stones can be traded and sold (so should be available at guild traders)

As for enchanting/alchemy.. not sure if there will be means outside of purchasing them or not.

You will probably only find raw mats in IC (and eventually Wrothgar), but I'm sure if you put points into your crafting profession (they will probably up those another tier) you'll get deliveries of raw mats just like you get voidstone and whatever now. You can also probably break down new high level gear to get mats as well.

Also, the crafting stations are for making new gear sets they are introducing, not for crafting anything of that level (from what I understand). You should be able to craft high level gear at any station in the game with the mats.

Where did you see that about the loot dropping in non IC dungeons Miss? If that is true, then I'm not quite as angry. I know the materials can be sold via guild store, trading, etc but I don't imagine those will be low price anytime soon. If these new mats can be aquired via breaking down and scaling dungeons up to V16 then it'll be a bit of a grind but I don't mind having to put the time in. If the gear that drops is v15-16 in those same dungeons, I would imagine you'll also be able to get the new enchantment glyphstones via breaking down enchantments that drop randomly as well. I would really like to see the source as that would be awesome.

@Nestor - Does anybody know how many traits will be required to make the new crafted sets?

I have not heard myself. It would be nice to know. Hopefully 6 or 8 would be the amount, or less.

If it's 9 then that info should be put out immediately for obvious reasons.

If they want to get people in to IC then the crafted sets had better be good!

Let's get some reward for crafting with sets that are "as good as" anything else in the game for a change.
