It's all in the title. Want to buy some nirnhorn gear to research, but can't afford it really.

Probably not, new gear is also being added and all gear will be outdated with VR16 upgrade. Nirn will still be one of the best options and the nerf will actually require a person to use more nirn to get good spell resist.

I expect the prices to shoot up after the DLC becuase it will become highly sought after to upgrade the new gear and more will now be needed. The "nerf " is not a nerf they are just fixing it so Nirn does not allow repeated stacking in gear such that 1 piece with a nirn now equals all the pieces getting credit as if they all had a nirn. The fix will make it so 1 piece only gives 1 nirn's worth of resist.

Depends on if the IC sets are 9 trait sets.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

I would not expect so either, nirn items are always rare because you only get one item as a reward per player at the end of a quest, and the stones themselves do not drop often either (from nodes in Upper Craglorn). You can always get your own nirn stones from the nodes and get a guildy or otherwise friendly person to craft an item for you to research...

Since they've said there's no new Trait coming with IC, that would be my guess.

Yes the price is dropping. Still not cheap, but it is down from what it was a few weeks ago. I could not find a Armor Nirn for less than 20K and a Weapon Nirn for less than 24K. Well, they were sold, but snatched up so quickly they just as well never existed. Now, I can find Armor Nirn for 10K to 13K, maybe less, and weapon Nirn for 15K to 16K.

I don't think it will go much lower, and the price may head up again when people come back for IC.

Thanks for those numbers @Nestor. 10-15k I can kind of afford.

All I have left for Nirn research is Medium Armor. However when I look at AI Research Grid and see all those Check Marks I just think, "20,000 here, 20,000 there, this has added up to a lot of game money" I don't even want to think about how many researchables I bought for 20K to 25K, but it was most of them. I scored a few for less than that, but not many.

You can make that in 30min to 1.5 hours... Just doing Cropsford, Bruma and Cheydinal quests (~30min each) will net you 12k plus a VR level at low VR.

I play like four hours a week at this point. I'd rather just pvp instead of doing quests.
