Leech Build Ideas

I want a build, that can take resources from others easily, preferably I'd like it to be an imperial. Possibly thinking of using dual wield with resto staff.
I feel the following abilities could be used.
1.Killer's Blade, my finisher, obviously used for it's health giving properties.
2.Reaper's Mark, in conjunction with Killer's Blade, this could result in a massive heal when needed.
3.Swallow Soul, for healing also.
4. Leeching Strikes.
5. Power Extraction
6. Soul Tether as one of my ultimates
7. Invigorating Drain
8. Illusive Mist
9. Quick Siphon
10. Healing Ward
11. Dual Wield Ability
12. Devouring Swarm Ult
These skills aren't in any particular order, could use some assistance with that, which would you put where? If you've got any better ideas or changes, please state them. I've never used Dual Wield before so that could be interesting... I reckoned it would help with DPS, don't know much about it to be honest. I'm unsure about attributes also, as it's got a fair bit of stamina use, but a fair bit of magicka use too. Oh, and armors of course, a mix of medium and light? Potentially may throw in dark cloak.

The only dw ability that fits your theme is bloodcraze which heals you for every tick of the bleed but suffers as many enemies are immune to bleeds.

That being said, mixing stam and magicka is going to be difficult to get effectiveness out of. I'd pick one or the other, otherwise you'll have multiple sources of leeches, but lower overall effectiveness in both damage and healing. You might be able to make it work as is, but you also might find it frustratingly ineffective.

I'd personally go with resto staff magicka.

Swallow Soul, Quick Siphon, Degeneration, Invigorating Drain, Leeching strikes, and bats or soul tether. It's basically a heavy attack build for the resto staff with a lot of self healing. It would fit your idea for a spec while using one resource. It would be weak on damage though, and not really function for much more than a "fun" build. To make it effective you'd have to put another resto staff in your secondary with standard healing skills (swallow soul would have to become funnel health) and run it as a healer, swapping to the leech bar to put all the debuffs/dots on an enemy before switching back to healing bar and just heavy attacking the target you debuffed. Possibly pop an invigorating drain on a healer for the stun.

    Good luck :)

As it happens, @21jws10, this is an area I've been working very heavily on theorycrafting recently and have hit a point where, as far as tooltip damage, my mega-magicka NB build will exceed what top-notch stamina NB setups show. Funnel ends up at only about 10% lower tooltip than concealed/surprise attack which turns it into one heck of a good HoT when it crits for you, and gives the 2 other closest people the same HoT (the base hit can crit, with the heal based off of that, as well as each HoT tick, or both!). Sap Essence, Destruction staff, & Resto staff skills have extremely strong showings in that mix, to boot. As far as leeching in general goes for a nightblade, I think you really are going to want to just go whole-hog on the spell side of things, and use stamina skills as an aside. I'd go into more detail, but it's one of those "trade secret" builds, for now :). Just know that going to the high heavens can, and will, pay off for you for a leech NB if you dig deep enough into everything to put it together... and your idea is on the right track.

You can also make good hybrids with enough champion points, but virtually no one is at the ranks you need to do so yet, and before that it's a very big tradeoff. The alternative, as an Imperial, is to go for a Stamina-based setup using Power Extraction like you were considering, as it procs Red Diamond :) as well as other set items and passives that have the same wording such as The Ravager. Combined with Vigor going to a very accessible Alliance Rank requirement in the Imperial City DLC and game patch (both hitting at the same time), Dizzying Flurry to proc the off-balance and beat down enemy block (even better next patch than now when hitting one light attack tap between, and can be cancelled mid-channel by tapping your block! It also has a longer-than-melee range, the same one as a dragon knight's whip does to boot) and Reaper's Mark + Rally (from the two-handed skill line), you'd end up with a pretty nice setup of self healing and damage combined with a DW/2h setup there, and can use Flying Blade as a nice ranged damage + snare in conjunction with Ambush to hop onto targets.

    :)

Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!
