Are PvP heals always so weak?

I first PvP'd around level 20, and noticed that my heals were doing very little, as compared to PvE. At the time, I attributed this to my level. I PvP'd again today (level 47), and to my surprise, didn't notice a whole lot of difference.

I do understand that there's a healing reduction in PvP, but I thought I read that it was 15%. It definitely feels like a lot more than that. I have to hit a single person with my "big" heals 4-5 times to heal them up sometimes. Their health goes up in small increments. This seems excessive.

Is this something that gets corrected with gear, or veteran ranks? I understand the need for healing not to be overpowered, but currently, I feel a bit impotent.

More magic points will help you out, but I've found that the best way to do massive healing in PVP is with breath of life as your standard heal (most use it as their oh crap heal) and the ultimate Practiced Incantation as your oh crap heal. Adding all of the passives in that skill line really ramp up the healing it does.

If you're not a Templar then no idea buddy. Best of luck!

I've been doing exactly what you suggest. BoL is my main heal, and I channel the Ultimate for "oh s**t" moments. Healing Springs and other "efficient" heals don't even make a dent.

I have 39 points in magicka, and magicka on every piece of gear (5L, 2H, all available armor and Breton passives), but heals still feel weak, and I have to chug potions to stay even remotely viable. At least that's how it feels.

Wow. I guess it's just perception then. I'm 40 health, 10 magic and all heavy armor. Never felt gimped at all. I do have all magic enchants to buff me up but I'm only at like 13K magicka before food (off memory).

Maybe I just haven't adjusted from the heals I land in PvE, or PvP healing experience in other games. I'm by no means giving up - just thought maybe I was missing something.

I'm used to PvP healing being limited by CC and focus-fire. Here it feels like the limit is smaller heals and eventual magicka starvation.

Weak, with level 47? No man, a good group with Templar full heal = immortal.
You gotta love healing your group while plowing through enemies. Its just awesome.

Playing that class really gives you the feeling being connected with a group.

In PVE you have 10-15k hp

In pvp pre vet with buff 20k+

Hmm. I really didn't come here to gripe, but to try to find some answers. And, it seems not a whole lot of people have the same perception as I do. Maybe my perception is off. I'll definitely have plenty more opportunity to experience PvP healing. And, as I stated earlier, I may also be comparing ESO to other MMOs with different healing mechanics.

I actually find this pretty interesting. Maybe it's how your healing instead of how much. The bigger the battle the more I'll switch into heal only mode. I pretty much stand a few feet behind the front line and pop my big heal as often as possible. Doing this at the right time can swing a battle of 50 or more people very quickly.

Ok, so I'm not completely crazy.

More health and healing cut in half...

Edit: or not. Original post said 50%. xD

There are ways to counter it. There are Champion Point passives, armor passives, and set bonuses that all boost healing received.

I have 10K health outside of Cyro, but once entered I have 15K + whatever a loaf of stolen bread gets me (5K?).

Battle leveling means you have close to 30k health by comparison to pve your probably well under 10k leveling so add in 15% reduction your heal would need to do like 4x the amount to be comparable in terms of health bar movement.

Thanks, this is what I was hoping/looking for. Guess it's time to knock out my last two regular levels and enter veteran ranks. xD

You just have way more health to heal up. In Veteran PvP I can heal someone to full in one Breath of Life if it crits because most players have less than 20k health as opposed to 30k plus.

Because they want all players dodge, block, move, and use healing potions. Group of healers working together is still insanely good in this game.

Once you are VR14, your heals will one-shot your allies again, it's just the way battle-leveling works.

The main issue is that you are below level 50. On the non veteran campaign people have a lot of health and very low magicka, stamina, spell damage and weapon damage. This results in everyone doing very low damage and having low heals.
As veteran player you will be able to heal for 20k+ with a single breath of life, but at the same time, there are many people who do 15k+ damage with a single attack.
