Ok. So I been back playing ESO for a while now. All i do is PvP. Ive noticed that certain abilitys completely ignore the dodge roll mechanic. Ive read in previous threads about hackers and what not related to some of these abilitys. I can tell you here its nothing of the sort. the problem is in the game itself.
Now before i continue I want to point out that im not talking about aoe ability's that are supposed to hit you when dodge rolling, that happens and its fine, i have other more specific gripes when it comes to aoes that i will be making another separate thread for.
So back to the topic. I noticed while fighting that certain times I just couldn't get away by dodge rolling, i would dodge roll and continue to take damage. 2 of the biggest culprits for this are flame lash and concealed weapon (DK and NB abilitys Respectively). Now, Im not saying that nothing should go through dodge roll, that would be op, however i am a little ticked off that certain abilities and more specifically morphs do so when it seems like its not intended for them to. being that my main is a nightblade i decided to give it a little test. my build is a stamina build so naturally i am using surprise attack instead of the concealed weapon morph. and surprise atk is completely dodge able and cannot be activated successfully on a dodging opponent. (works the way it should in other words.)
For testing purposes i respecced and loaded up concealed weapon. well, it didn't take me long to notice that i could hit players at the beginning of dodge rolls, in the middle of dodge rolls and at the end of dodge rolls without any problem at all like they weren't even dodging. Really? yes really.
To me this is pretty bad. Its more than just a slight overlook on the part of the devs. I wonder how many other ability's share this magic dodge ignoring power. From my death recaps im almost 90% sure that flame lash works in the same way.
Now, if this is/was intended than why does it not say in the tool-tip (undodgeable) or something to that effect. and why does the stam morph (Surprise attack) for instance not work in the same way.
It seems like a pretty big oversight and something that should be looked at by the devs.
Let me know if you agree..
