How do you spread your stats with a pvp sorc build in mind?

I've read guides saying full Magika and seen others with a magika/health mix.

Cheers.

Depending on what race you play, you want to have at least 20k health, and spend the rest of points into magica afterwards. However, this might change after the new patch is implemented.

You get 5k health for walking through the door (Battle Spirit). You probably don't want to be less than 18k health before you port. Any less than this and you're asking to get oneshot.

Expect to use shields, expect to use potions. Beyond that, it depends on your build and your gear.

More health can give you a little more breathing room. More magicka gives you more damage/casts (or stamina if you're a stam sorc).

If you find yourself having (or not having) resource issues, adjust accordingly.

Keep in mind you get 10 free Attribute points to shuffle about just by changing mundus stones (you can quickly swap for more magicka, health, stamina, or regens) without doing a respec. More minor changes can be made by reenchanting gear differently.

If you're tanking, more health and stamina. If you're DPS or heals, more of your main resource pool.

Start with the above and adjust from there.

I believe that in PvP, damage is getting a 50% reduction with the next update, which could effect how much health is really needed. Normally people want close to 20K health because of the one-shot issues that some builds can cause, but with the upcoming reduction, this should no longer be an issue.

Thanks for all your responses guys. I'll go for 20k health and the rest in Magika ;)

@ADarklore, it's going from a 20% decrease to a 50% decrease, but shields and healing are going down the same amount.

Essentially, time to kill is going to be longer, but the overall ratio of everything else will remain the same.

With the reduction in healing, your only consistent source for regen is, well, regen. So, unless you have this number cranked incredibly high, it's better to have a little more (health) versus a little less.

You can always fine tune later.

Also OP, the 18k health mark is recommended prior to the +5k buff from Cyrodiil.

Let your experiences be your guide.

*You may wait, as you may want more stamina than you currently use now, with the change in how regen will stop when blocking after the major update.*
