Hey everyone,
Just looking for a little input on the best builds for a templar healer. I was thinking I would go with a destro staff so I can still deal damage on my primary bar and I'm not 100% for my seconday. I have no clue what the best armor combinations are or anything else so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If this is for soloing or dungeon DPS, then go with a destro staff. If this is for group healing, take a resto staff. The reason being is the resto staff passives allow for better magicka return than the destro staff passives, which means you can be more effective at your job.

ESO doesn't use the holy trinity in the same way other MMOs do. The tanks in ESO have to prioritize targets to taunt rather than taunting all enemies and they are expected to do some DPS too. DPS in ESO don't just do damage. They must also use damage mitigating abilities for themselves and the group to help keep everyone (especially themselves) alive. The healer is the closest role in ESO compared to other MMOs. Their primary job is to heal and only to heal. If things are going smoothly and you can squeeze some DPS in your rotation, then go for it. But if you're busy DPSing and someone dies or the group wipes, you're ultimately the one responsible.

My healer templar runs resto/destro staves right now (level 28). For end game, I will likely end up using double resto staves as a serious healer with very little in the way of DPS. Healing is my favorite role in every MMO I've ever played.

For healing, I'm following Deltia's build called The Battery. I will probably make a few tweeks to it so it fits my personal style of play, but it will end up being something very similar to his build for end game healing.

Now for the dungeon DPS/solo side of the class, I will be taking a few notes from Deltia's Omega Templar DPS build. I will deviate from his build quite a bit more than with The Battery, but it will be using many of the same abilities.

If you're serious about healing, I'd recommend you start leveling your resto staff skill. There are at least 3 active skills in that tree that you want to have access to: Healing Springs (morph of Grand Healing), Regeneration (either morph), and Combat Prayer (morph of Blessing of Protection).

For solo PVE, I actually enjoy 2h. The damage is great and it doesn't hurt my magicka pool, which I need for healing/other Templar abilities. Up to you what you use, but if you're going to go with two weapons that use magicka, be careful how you spend it (DPS or healing) lest you run low.

Armor-wise, you're going to want mostly light for the magicka passives. Maybe a few pieces of heavy for survivability or medium for stamina you can use for melee weapon heavy attacks/abilities.

I use a resto/destro set up on my healer spec (:

I use destro to run elemental drain for my group, mystic orbs, radiant oppression, channeled focus, and spear shards on that bar with aggressive warhorn as the ultimate there.

My resto bar is combat prayer, healing springs, repentance (best skill in the game for a healer), breath of life, and either structured entropy or purifying ritual with solar prison as my ultimate on this bar.
    Unfortunate magicka warden main.
