Supply of researching materials drying up?

I'm new to ESO, and have decided (as a lone wolf) to do Blacksmithing, Wood and Light/Medium armor skills. I'm level 40+ in all 3 areas. For blacksmithing, I seem to be able to keep my research continually going with all 3 slots. However, for wood and cloth, I now have 3 research slots sitting empty (I plan to reroll skills once I have my character at a higher level).

I think most of the wood and cloth items are at 4-6 traits. Also, most weapons are the same. What I not finding are weapons, wood and cloth items to do research on.

I'm VR4, DF working on Reapers March and Caldwells Silver right now. Do I just need to be patient, or is there somewhere I can look to find stuff to research. I was hoping with all the questing I am doing, I might find more stuff to research. I am farming enough that I have to go to the crafting station a couple times a day, but almost all just gets deconstructed because there are no traits to research.

I realize Nirhoned is end game finds, but I'm not there, so I'm concerned with that at the moment. But while I am moving up, would like to keep the research going.

Could use some guidance please.

Thanks.

If you have the gold it might be worth looking at the guilds stores - Rawl'kha has some of the best around.

You can often find low value gear with specific traits for sale.

Given the amount of time it takes to research traits, particularly later on, it's worth spending some cash to keep all your slots occupied.

By the way, if you haven't started yet it might be worthwhile considering the other three crafts. It is possible for a single character to do all six and it is easier to level up as you go along rather than leave it until you've completed some.

Ask your guild mates for some low level research items. You can make stuff to trade if they are still researching their traits, but people will also sell them cheap or even give them away if you provide the material for it.

If you are not in a guild where you can get this kind of service from guild mates, expect to spend a lot of time looking for the right traits on drops.

After I got to the 3 or 4th traits, it became very problematical to acquire the items I needed with the traits I wanted. Thankfully, the Guild Kiosks hit about this time and now I can buy any traited item I want for 100 to 200 gold on the PC.

Also, if you join a guild, like Lone Wolf Help, we run crafting nights where we make traited items for people to research. Heck, we will do this for a guild mate any night of the week.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Thanks. I'm actually working on enchanting too, but it is around level 20. Haven't really looked at becoming a chef or alchemist as the stuff is cheap enough to buy and seems to drop like crazy while questing.

Being new, I need to ask a stupid question re the buying of weapons. I dohave enough gold to buy so low cost weapons from the guilds. But how does one know which traits the weapon will have? It isn't clear to me when looking at the guild stores available stuff.

The guild I'm in is a bunch of friends from Destiny and their primary focus has been PVP. To add to that, their interest in the game in general has waned, and the guild only has under 10 members, and none of them are crafters. I'll join Lone Wolf Help when I get online later.

I should also mention, I play PS4 and not PC, if it matters.

And while I know I am not supposed to trade, hopefully my next comment will not be construed as such, but to those of you who have commented, if you are willing to craft me some stuff if I join your guild, or just do it to help another crafter out, please PM me on PS4. PSN ID is xxDrDoom (only 2 x's). I can definitely supply the materials.

    Thanks again.

Reach out to @MissBizz here on the boards, she is running an off shoot of Lone Wolf Help on the PS4, she can get you hooked up for the PS4 platform.

The Tool Tip should tell you what Trait is on the Armor when you float your cursor over it. The only needed thing that is not displayed is the Racial Style (same on the PC).

    Hmmm,

I don't recall seeing seeing a tool tip when browsing the guild stores, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. I don't think we have a cursor on the PS4. I'll try again when I get online later. Don't care about the racial style for research. :)

I'll ping MissBizz. Trading in a guild sounds much easier. Thanks.

Strange that the Trait would not be listed before you could buy it, Traits are pretty important. It should be there as I have not seen a thread on "Where's my Traits" or something like that.

Anyway, it should be in the window that tells the the description of the weapon, the damage it does, enchantment it has etc.

Traits are definitely listed in the item description window on consoles. If you don't see a trait listed, then that item doesn't have a trait.

Hey there! I got your message on my wall! I'll throw you an invite here shortly, as well I'll go browse in guild stores and see where it lists the trait (I'm sure it will) As well, you can probably manipulate the search function to show only stuff with the specific trait you need for research. If you're not on I'll send a mail to you with my findings :)

Thanks everyone. I think I just need to search for the specific trait, but maybe it does show in the general full listing. Just don't remember seeing it (but then I'm old. haha)

Look forward to hearing from you MissBizz and joining the guild.
