62 gold for curing vampirism

this game is still surprising me:
you pay 85.000 for the last 10 slots bank, but once you are going to treat the worst known diseas you just pay 62 gold, without any quest.
this is the most breaking immersion in game i ever seen; even a merchant food or drink have a higher price.

Did they lower the price? could have sworn I paid 600 gold...ish :D

edit: found a guide that says 621 gold....

It depends on character level, but yes it is hilarious that so many NPCs die or are ostracized/ruined because of WW and Vamp status with the cure being so trivial.

    Inconsistency is the only consistency.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

62 is to cure infection, 620 is cure for full vampire state after finishing the quest.

Yet they charged my character 37,600 gold to get cured of the clap from some lusty argonian maid. Supply and demand I guess.

Mate, that was not the cure price but the forgiveness price. Always rent the lusty argonians from your local clergyman. Much cheaper in the long run.

You have to think of it in MMO terms though, how many players would be happy with hours of questing or spending tens of thousands to cure it? Sadly if it was anything substantial we would see more threads than this one complaining of the opposite.

I do feel the cost is a little low and tends to let players run FOTM builds on and off rather fast. Personally I would have liked to see a long quest arc to cure it the first time you do so then just a gold cost every time after that. Maybe with a cooldown like wayshrines, so rapid cures cost more over once a month or something.

Making something trivial an issue is.......... well.......trivial.

Btw, it's 62 to cure infection, and 621 to cure the full state (there's a big difference). It's like viruses where you need vaccines and shots before it gets any worse, and even those vaccines are close to free or at minimal fee.

    Again....trivial stuff.

You got screwed out of 37k then...

Read volume two...there is no cure for that stuff.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

Curing vampirism should cost you 3000 crown or your character's right arm.

Just make the price escalate every time you cure yourself. 621 the first time 1500 the next 4k after that and so on. This will prevent Fotm players from constantly switching

i say ...you just pay 62 gold, without any quest
then, it should be totally free, and based upon your offer ;)

    @All:
i concerning the way there is no quest for the cure: it will be immersive and will give the proper dimension of the spread diseas all over rtamriel.

I find immersion breaking such an over-used phrase it's become meaningless.

I don't think this specific example is that unrealistic. IRL I paid a lot more for my luggage then I do for my annual flu shot.

compare flu with vampirism is like to compare flu with cancer.

how can you role playing without immersion?
if break immersion is meaningless to you, it do not mean the same for other players

Your comparison doesn't hold water either though, there is a cure for vampirism. I can decide at any time that I don't want to live with the condition, throw a trifling amount of gold at it and be done.

Me. I miss when MMO's had costs and consequences for your choices or failing. Instead you can change vampirism, spec, your entire role, like a change of clothes. :p Now THAT is immersion breaking!

Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

I would think Clergy would offer to cure vampirism/lycanthropy for free, given it means another soul delivered taken from the grasp of the Daedra and guided to the Divines. The gold cost is probably just a 'cost for materials' to do the curing.
