Major Molten Armament Bug (tested).

Molten Armaments is meant to give a 40% increase to heavy attack damage, but in reality it only has about a 50% chance for a heavy attack to be improved. About 50% of the time when Molten Armaments is up, your heavy attack damage is standard and does not receive the 40% damage increase, nor will it receive the execute damage.

Is it only Molten Armaments or does this bug affect Igneous Weapons and the base skill as well?

I only tested with Molten Armaments, but I suspect it affects the base skill as well as Igneous Weapons, it just only gives the buff half of the time. It's a problem with the core function of the skill.

Yeah I've seen this happen when I was hitting an enemy with high health 1 heavy attack did the extra damage while the other was the same damage as a regular heavy attack.

If so they need to halve the amount of magica required to use the ability or increase the duration then. It's completely silly if they decided to put a hidden cool down when it lasts for 9 seconds at armament 1.

No there is no cooldown, because at times I get two or three buffed heavy attacks in a row. The bug seems to be that it only gives a ~50% chance of buffing heavy attack damage, instead of buffing every heavy attack for the duration of the skill.

I'm quite sure this is a bug because the skill lasts far too short for it to only give a ~50% chance of improving heavy attack damage. With Earthen passives you can finish two to three heavy attacks before the skill runs out, depending on the weapon. The skill is insanely expensive so it would be stupid to only give it ~50% chance of working for such a short duration, combined with the fact that heavy attacks are almost impossible to land in PvP, and have a low DPS in PvE.

I think it is an amazing skill, I love it when it works, please fix it ZOS. You didn't add this new skill just for it to stay bugged and useless.

Any other DKs care to test this to make it more likely that ZOS might address this bug?

This will be addressed in the Imperial City base-game patch so Molten Armament will grant its bonus to fully-charged heavy attacks.

Ah lame...personally I despise the fully charged heavy attack. It's like waiting for an elder to cross the street...or watching water boil....or paint dry..............................................or a 1990's dial up connection, too slow!

I realize it was what was intended but I seriously hope you guys don't make this "fully charged" attack a crutch for the only viable high deeps build for DKs. Keep it active on non-fully charged attacks pls. Thanks @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert

I don't understand, how does nerfing Molten Armaments to only work with fully charged heavy attacks, address this bug? Fully charged heavy attacks are incredibly slow, even in PvE the monster will reach you long before you can finish charging, not a good idea. Please leave it as it is and fix the randomness bug?

Most of "fully charged heavy attack" work on medium attack at the moment, so let's see and hope for the pts.

I suspect this (new Molten Weapons ability) is meant to enhance the use/value of the Weighted weapon trait, which is otherwise never used.

It never says anywhere in the tooltip it needs to be a full charged heavy attack. Also most top dks use full heavies under 20% and just keep dots up anyway so it won't that terrible. Definitely will b stupid for the first 80% of most fights tho and would probably b better off just not using it.

I wonder if anyone complained he was being killed by partially charged heavy attacks.. or if ZOS just has no reason at all to nerf this ability.
