What are the chances of a flash sale or something where there are discounted prices?
Can the more expensive motifs only be bought with Crowns or can the be found elsewhere in the game?
Have updates and additions been added because it's currently pretty slim pickings in the store?

✭✭✭✭All motifs can be found or bought in the game. There is currently nothing in the store that I consider a must have and that can't be obtained in the game. Well, the Explorer's Pack is a must have for me, but I got it by pre-ordering and it doesn't give any real gameplay advantage.1 -

I'm currently lvl20 and already found motifs for:
Redguard, Orc, kajhit, bosmer and nord plus I've picked up 7 purple Dwemer motifs one of which I already had so put it up for sale so, no I wouldn't recommend buying motifs!
Pets, costumes that type of thing (for aesthetic purposes) is the only things I'd consider.0
