Vampirism bite rate?

So I finally encountered several groups of blood fiends and got mangled for about 30 minutes but no vampirism. I don't have any disease resistant items so how to you make it more probable to get the disease? This is starting to get frustrating . ...I a new player to ESO and like it a lot but I feel they made it too difficult to become a vamp! I'm on the NA server Ebon heart by the way.

The bloodfiends you're looking for are not the standard spawns or quest-related ones. The contagious bloodfiends only appear in the end zone for your faction, in the Rift area in your case. All you need do is let one of these beat on you for a few hits, then run away, leaving the spawns alive for the next player. A couple of hits should be all it takes - even if they kill you.

They don't spawn every night, so it will be a case of go there and see when night falls. some people think the moon phases have some bearing on this, but in both vampire and werewolf cases, I've found this not to matter at all.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

So they are actually james contagious blood fiends? The ones I found were in the rift but just named blood fiends.

That should have been "named". Sorry...I'm on my phone.

Is your character perhaps already infected with werewolf? If you were encountering the right bloodfiends that might be why it didn't take. Also, do you know what to expect once bitten by a bloodfiend that can infect you? You know you don't just become a vampire on the spot, right? Do you know where to look on your character sheet to see if you are infected with Noxiphilic Sanguivoria? Sorry if these questions seem silly but you say you are new so I'm just trying to figure out what you already know so I can help you.

    1) Are you sure you checked your "effects" tab under "C" key?
    2) You need to be hit by a group of Bloodfiends (exact name: Bloodfiend).
    3) Bloodfiends from Dark Anchors do not count. Only rarely spawned ones at some specific locations which you can look up.
    4) If you were indeed correct and got hit by the right Bloodfiends then you should've gotten infected by Noxiphilic Sanguivoria. Then whenever you get near a Wayshrine, male NPC will spawn and will give you a quest to become a vampire.

(So as MornaBaine said, you do not become vampire right on the spot.)

Today we make our stand. Today we take back the Ruby Throne, which is ours by ancient right and the blessings of the Divines.

I assumed that I would see a message saying that I was infected. I will check my character when I get home. Thanks for the info guys
