NEW CREATIVE WEAPONS

Let me first say this isn't a demand or an angry "why don't we have this?" Post but more of a "wouldn't it be nice" post that everyone can have a think on.

I love all of these Elder Scrolls, Witcher, Dragon Age kind of games and even though the spells may be creative the weapons are always so lackluster! Sword, axe... Bloody mages with wooden sticks. It's getting boring. Especially for mages! In Dragons Dogma you had a magicka bow that could heal you or do insane damage with crazy tracking abilities and it just looked and felt amazing to play with.

I think with Eso especially so many builds are based on this "magicka or stamina" building block and because most of our class abilities cost magicka we are forced into creating these magicka builds like a Dark Elf DK having to use a bloody staff. Why not spectral flying daggers that do heavy damage up close and less damage from afar. Or gloves that cast much like how we cast spells in Skyrim from our hands where when you block it puts some kind of kinetic shield up. Then these magicka weapons will only do magicka damage as swords and bows only do physical damage. Staves would continue to be the elemental damage choice.

I guess it's just as easy to say "well go play games with such weapons in them" but this is an MMO, we are going to spend so much more time and real money to play this game and I think it'd be great to just have a bit more diversity and creativity in combat.

If you have weapon ideas, agree or disagree leave a comment!

I would dearly love to see some alternate destruction/restoration magic options.

Something like a "spell focus" , technically a two-handed thing that animation-wise your caster holds in their left hand while they make mystic gestures with their right... depending on racial style it could be breton ornate spellbooks, altmer welkyn stones, nord runesticks, dunmer holy symbols, bosmer spinner bone rattles, imperial amulet of kings replicas, khajiit moon amulets, barbaric gemmed skulls, et cetera...

I would also like to see a mixed melee magiy weapon style. One-handed and wand for example... with a mix of magically charged weapon melee attacks and pure magic medium ranged and AoE wand attacks

Of course, on the stamina side I'd also really want to see a polearm skill line. From imperial pikes to dwemer halberds, from bosmer spears to breton glaives, from maormer tridents to akaviri naginata, all of those deserve to be in the game, and handle different enough from greatswords and mauls to be worth their own skill line (reusing some animations from the templars aedric spear line...)

And people have been asking for an unarmed "brawler" skill line as well... I'd love to see that, though I think it should not be cempetetive with actual weapons, but at best and with using brass knuckles or punch daggers do half the damage proper weapons inflict... but rely heavily on CC options through its skills (from "throwing dirt into the eyes" for a blind over "leg sweep" for a knockdown to "kick below the belt" for a stun...)

And naturally I'd also love to see a few more options added to the existing skill lines.

I mean, "bow" really could use a rename to "archery" or "marksmanship" or something along those lines, and get an option to use crossbows as well (maybe more intrensic armor penetration, but longer reload times?).

Maaaybe even slings and staff slings, though those could actually be worth a new ranged skill line depending on using "special" sling bullets... (aka, magical mini-grenades)

And perhaps flails, chain whips, and other flexibe weapons added to one-handed and two-handed? Not sure if animating a weapon with aflaxible part would work all that well with the current attack anims though... but it'd be neat to have.

2H Polearms (glaive, etc..) and crossbows should be easy to add. Flail, maybe. 1H Spears? Not so much. It's your primary weapon and you throw it? Now you are disarmed and have to run and pick it up to throw it again. Shield + Spear combo might work if the spear wasn't able to be thrown.
