Is anything going to be done about the bite system?

It seems that the bite system really needs to be modified. At night I see a large group standing there to get bit, just to see one guy kill the vampire so that he can sell his bite for a marked up price.

Now the most logical step is to ask someone to bite you for free or offer to buy a bite, but you cannot do that on this forums anymore, with the exception of going to the player helping players forums, and then asking in a dedicated thread. Of course, your post will be knocked out of view within minutes, because there are tens of others posting around the same time as you, so your post is quickly knocked to the next page, and now has a very low probability of being seen. You cannot post to buy a bite on the forums because they made it against the rules for some reason.

Making it hard to get bit just because something only spawns on occasion and can easily be killed is not challenging, it's annoying and a waste of time. Becoming a vampire/werewolf should be part of a really hard quest line, or some sort of group dungeons, not just system of camping, begging, or breaking forum rules. Bottom line is the current system deters away from fun gaming experience, and I think it should be revamped.

Of course, it is against the EULA to buy the bite, so you cannot buy it anyway. If you did ignore that fact, you would then have a high probability of getting scammed, but you could not report it, because it is against the EULA in the first place.

As I just stated: " Becoming a vampire/werewolf should be part of a really hard quest line, or some sort of group dungeons, not just system of camping, begging, or breaking EULA"

They are more than talented enough to come up with a better system.

I'd even be fine with that.

It is not against the EULA as i've reported the issue and got compensation after being scammed for a werewolf bite. It's not giving the bite after payment that is breaking the terms. Mind you, they probably wouldn't help you if you kept getting scammed. They do warn to watch out and not pay, but the scammer is the guilty party not the victim.

yeah I had misread before, it is against forums rules to buy it on the official forums.

I have a Vampire and a Werewolf. All it took to get bitten was ask very politely in zone chat if someone would please give me a bite. Usually, the zone requests I see are just demands for bites and no one responds to that. It seems "please" and "thank you" are a thing of the past. There are a lot of kind people out there that will respond to kindness.

I've heard many people ask politely for many different things, just to hear someone else respond with "shut up, #$%@" or mention something about their junk.

From what I gather from PC players, Vampirism was scarce at first but then like every disease it spread and became common. Now it's rare to pay for bites on PC because it's so easy to get for free. As the disease spreads on console, the same will be the case.

There's guilds dedicated to spreading the diseases for free. Also many times, normal guilds will have vampire members willing to bite for free. If you want immediate gratification (like I did), you can gamble and try the paying method. It worked for me, but it's risky.

Yeah, I did that... like 15 minutes later it was buried in the sea of other posts.

What i'd recommend is you look for people specifically saying "free bite" and respond to them asap on the console mail (and not wait for someone to offer it to you). People who answered my post wanted to sell for 10k, but i kept looking and eventually found someone giving it. You need to be fast and check often though, as they go really quickly.

Though, all in all, i do agree they should check the whole system. Some changes could be positive for the whole community.

Yup, I'm there looking. I do not mind paying even, it's obnoxious that I have to camp the forums or a single spot at night in the game instead of actually playing the game.

I 100% guarantee this isn't a problem if consoles had text chat.

i agree, bite system is not done well at all. Just have players who are already bitten camping spots so no1 else can be bitten. Pathetic honestly, on the players part and ESO.

THAT is one of the biggest changes i want to have in the game. Seriously, except the fact it's just slower on console, why not?

Also, i didn't find it really annoying to search for spawns. I just recommend not camping a spot, rather just go around, explore, get some ores or a group to hang out with, and go around the zone. The times when i found WW, they spawned in an area that wasn't on the "Known spawn location" maps you can find online.

It will get easier over time, although I agree with others that if consoles had text chat it would get easier faster. I was lucky and had a guildmate give me a werewolf bite shortly after he joined (PC), and I was questing on my Dunmer the other day in the Rift and someone was looking to trade a vampire bite for a werewolf bite...so I was happy to oblige since after over a year of playing I still hadn't made a vampire character. So I didn't get any NPC bites or pay for them, just nice people. And I try to pay it forward when I can. I don't charge for my bites. :D I just have to remember when I have them so I can give them out.

This one is very frustrated with the bite system, she has not managed to sell a single Khajiit bite or genuine Khajiiti Flea bite in all the months she has attempted to do so.

By the way Zenimax stated long ago that persons intentionally killing the blood fiends or npc werewolves so that people would be forced to buy bites negatively impacts other players enjoyment of the game and game experience. In other words its a form of griefing and should be reported. I wish I could find the post but its lost in the forums from early last year.

There are a number of spots in the fifth zones. One alternative is to finish the main quest and go to the fifth zone of Cadwell's Silver and look for the bloodfiends there. There will be far fewer people in the zone.

I like this. Apparently, patience IS a virtue.

I figure, if I get bit, I get bit. I'm not going to beg or pay for it. If I don't get bit, oh well. I'll just wait until I do. Besides, if I wanted to be a blood sucking fiend or a heart devouring monster, I'd go back to working in the Corporate world.

I suggested as much and started a thread that got flamed by all of the bite trolls. There are entire guilds of people killing the vamps and overcharging.

The crown store should just sell it and take the power from the trolls and make a little profit too. Plus with the bite trolls shutdown you ccould probably just go to the vamp shrine and get bit.
