Surprise Attack: magic or physical damage?

I know that when you morph a class ability into a stamina morph it then scales off of your max stamina, weapon damage and weapon critical. However the description still says it's magic damage. Does this mean I've been wasting ask my champion points into mighty? (Increases physical damage by x%) And does this also mean that spell resistance is what I need to be eating through and not physical resistance?

Now if this is the case, can you make it so surprise attack causes physical damage in order to synergize with my play style and champion point allocation?

From my understanding if you morph to stamina usually there are some skills that actually uses weapon damage if it says so in description. So technically your weapon uses physical and magic damage.

Yeah same here. I hope it is considered to be physical damage otherwise I've been wasting my champion points.

In game on PS4 it says Physical. However the site I check skills on lists it as Magic. You could always reset your CP and then record it's damage number, then spec points into Mighty and see if it increases.

I'm on the PS4, and I recall reading that surprise attack causes magical damage. Also I can't check damage numbers.
