But I can't stop getting killed! Unless, of course I play a Templar tank, but hacking and slashing only goes so far, and a Nord Templar that uses magic is just weird.
I've now, officially decided that it's time to get down to brass tacks with ESO.
I've played through to level 10 on a variety of different builds and have come to the conclusion that I need to play more of a hybrid to truly satisfy myself.
Sorcerer is great and all - but they're so fragile in general and their spell selection is rather limited with a great deal of concentration on lightning (never my favorite).
Dragon Knight is okay. I like that you can use your spikey armor and I really like the stone/lava capabilities, but, to me, the fire abilities leave something to be desired.
Nightblade is a great class, but tends to be somewhat OP, IMO and, there are so many cool abilities but so few slots to be able to use. I wonder what the point of disabling effects are for if, as soon as you use them to give you an advantage and buy you time, you negate them. What, am I supposed to use the 30 seconds to simply run away?
Templar is an awesome class, don't get me wrong, but the whole javelin thing just doesn't really seem to fit with my RP. Love the two-handed skills and the health/stamina boosts. You can kick some serious butt.
I could use advice on where to go from here and with a build that will actually serve a larger purpose in this universe, especially in the MMO and group environment.
Are there classes that seem to be lacking, that others aren't playing that folks would find useful and would be able to make a serious contribution to the team as a whole?
I'm brand new to grouping and MMO and PvP and really want to make a concerted effort to fit in well and be useful.
A Hybrid build is fine with me, if someone can suggest something. I'm happy to try and I want to make this runthrough count.
Also, would you suggest 1 character on NA and one on EU? I notice that, on NA, there are always hordes of folks around so surviving mobs isn't usually a big deal, but EU is so much more open, it can be kind of dangerous.
Thanks much!
