Need General Advice for my Magicka DK pleaase

A few days ago i switched to a magicka build from a 2h/bow stamina build. Now this involved beginning to level my neglected dest staff/s+b skill trees (yay for training trait).

Currently (with blue hp/magicka food) i have 24k magicka / 16k hp (21k cyrodiil) / 9k stamina The apprentice Mundus and i'm an imperial.

Current Equipment

Random training fire staff (just switched to dest is low)
Random S+B

Helm - Cyrodiil light
Chest - Torugs pacts - medium
Shoulders - random blue
Waist - Random Waist
hand - Cyrodiil light
Legs - torug pact medium
Boots - torug pact

All are magicka enchanted.

Necklace - random green with healthy. Reduce magicka cost
2x cryodiils light ring, - Reduce magicka cost

Skill bar 1:

Destructive Reach
Structured Entropy
Dragon Fire Scale
Molten Armamants
Inner Light

Ult : Meteor

Skill bar 2:

Flame lash
GDB
Burning Talons
Cleanse/ obsidian shard (waiting for Shield Charge)
Inner Light

Ult: Corrosive Armour

All class passives
Destructive is lvl 29 at the moment
S+B is lvl 9 (LOL)

I just hit vet 6.

Now the problem is i don't do anywhere near enough damage to be viable for pvp

, my buffed heavy attack's hardly do anything. Is Molten Armaments bugged with Fire destruction staves?

I only have 1200 Spell power at the moment, not sure if thats the reason, my flame lash doesn't even do 4k damage yet.

I keep running out of Magicka really quickly, not sure if i'm doing the rotation right, also my stamina goes so fast when i have my s+b out.

I have no idea what to do, what cheap sets should i get, baring in mine im on console so nearly impossible to find stuff.

Some good advice above....

But really just skip Nirnhoned... that's a total waste of a large amount of gold on what is effectively just levelling gear. Unless you have millions in the bank & feel a need to waste it.

Also, if you are a magicka build you do not need more stamina.

You need to do two things basically...

1. Gear: Get rid of the random drops & use some sets that will increase spell damage & max magicka. While levelling these can be crafted sets just fine so will hardly cost anything. At least 5 parts should be light armor as the passives will help with both your magicka sustain & your dps. Go blue on small parts... you can go purple on the large ones if you have lots of cash, but blue is just fine.

I'd suggest looking at Magnus gift as this ticks all the boxes... spell power, magivka etc, and will help with sustain. Also Torugs pact for spell power. You can pick up V6 Soulshine jewellery cheap from guild stores which will give magicka & spell crit which will help & be fine for levelling too. Use cost reduction glyphs on all the jewellery.

2. Skills: Level them all & don't worry too much at the mo about a fixed end game style rotation.... but standard is powerful, and use the DK version of magelight as well. Stack DoT's where you can and then medium weave force pulse from your destro staff line, whips damage will increase with better gear (Higher spell power & max magicka).... I tend to have melee & CC stuff on my S&B bar, and ranged stuff on my destro staff.

Magika DK?
May the divines help you...

On a side note, while leveling use evry skill you have, dont focus already on a specific build.

Choose what kind of"magika DK" you want to be: 5 Heavy 2 light => more sustain but you'll need a way to regenerate magika,
5Light 2 heavy => more damage but you need a way to cover your healthbar with shields.

DK's also miss mobility so become a vamp and put the mistform on one of your bar.

Personally i use 4 pcs of the healer (jewels + stash) 2 valkin skoria and 5 magnus gift + a random shield on the s&b slot.
Stay ranged and use correctly all of your skills ( buffs and debuffs) dont charge unless you have to stun your enemy and dont be afraid to RUN away, remember that you are not a tank even if you are a dk.

Nah magika dk where OP a while ago, now they are still very strong but you need to L2P a more non-dk playstile to be competitive with it ( no more brainless charge+talons )

Magicka DK is the highest magicka DPS class right now.... so no, you didn't make a mistake. They are one of the most well rounded classes in either stam or magicka build.

DK dps in PvP doesn't matter... they can just hit scales & turn everybodies damage back on themselves!

Magicka dk is still viable in PvP, but definitely a lost cause if you don't use sets on all your slots.
Your first objective is getting to VR14, that will already help solve your stat issues by using higher level foods, more attributes etc

Don't waste money on gear until you are max level. Since the max lvl is soon changing to vr16 anyways, I advise not spending anything on gear at all. You can just use all crafted sets and v1 warlock (should be cheap) for jewelry while you wait to get to vr16.

Solo PvP as a magicka dk is already hard enough that you don't need to do it underlevelled and undergeared ^^

I would suggest Seducer. That is what I run on my Imperial DK who is focused on Magic. I also use Soulshine 5 Piece (3 jewelery and two armor pieces)

Yeah well... Useless in this scenario and not the best possible for sure.

OP asked for a not extremly gear expensive build and 4 martial knowledge +2 cyrodill light is not only expensive it is damn!
