Wrong I just completed it like 30 minutes ago.

You should either go to another zone where there are no players standing around at the TOP of the room or try to do it at non peak times.

I will admit my other toon was outside killing those bandits and got lucky and was falged as completed because someone else finished it.

*EDIT* Four or less times logging out, not killing. You go down then some people attack the silvenar, then you defend him, then you go upstairs and kill the captor.

Boy oh boy this reminds me of quests after initial release. Groups of players camped at certain spawn points waiting for a quest boss to appear. You have my sympathy.

Yes, it's glitched, and yes, ZoS is aware of it. There are some helpful tips to complete it, but here's the thing:
Your game is not over.

This isn't a part of the MQ. While it is a quest to complete to get 100% in Auridon quest line, just be a little patient and try again every so often.

It's obviously not going anywhere.

Oh, and ZoS stated they have to re-write the quest, because it can't be fixed with a patch.

She does not need to go down stairs. The quest works. The idiots standing in the room have no idea how the quest works.

You zone in, kill her where she stands, you talk to the silvanar down stairs, you defend him against 3 waves plus the chief down stairs, you win.

If you pull her down stairs while the wave script is running or the wave portion gets pulled upstairs while there is a capture up... The quest bugs until that version of the tower is emptied of every person on the quest. The big is contagious ( Ty local quest sharing ) and if that tower version never emptied out all day... No one in that version ( and no one downing into that version ) can complete the quest. No amount of waiting , no amount of forcing her down stairs, no nothing will correct it.

You have to get yourself into a clean instance by either logging in and out ( standing right in the room ) or log in during low population times when you can spawn in an instance basically alone. So best to log in and out early in AM.. To have the best chance at popping into a clean version of the instance. Everyone on the quest resetting at the tree works too, but good luck with that... Always 3-10 people not using voice chat.

If you pop in a version that is killing the waves, skip killing the capture and run down stairs and you will get completion credit as long as you're down stairs when the chief dies.

Watch the YouTube video " the prisoner of jathsogar"... The last 3 min shows how the quest works when it isn't already broken. If everyone would understand how it works and how it's fixxes.... Everyone could complete the quest. I wish the GM who posted the go down stairs comment would watch the video and test the quest themselves and retract the incorrect comment about pulling her down stairs. That's not how it's done. I understand you could coincendently pull her down and not bug it out... But it not necessary and it is one way to possibly bug your quest, if the wave script is running too.

Also, this quest can be skipped and you can go ahead to reapers without loosing out and come back another time to complete this quest for the SP.

Abandon it if you just want to stop hearing the npc but it will not fix it.

Finally completed. Got lucky and noone was there today. Only one other player. We killed the mobs and now can move on to the next quest

doesn't not work reliably .. last week there were ONLY two instances, both locked at different stages but where people insisted being in the fort room

the way to succeed is to find a time when no one else is around ... or NEVER roll AD

I've done it 2x's in silver without a hitch being daggerfall covenant.

The community gets alot better in veteran zones. People would rather play with others then grief them.

As far as your problem might need to set the alarm for 5am.

I was able to get through this with 20 other people. We all ran outside the building to the tree across the way to reset it, then walked back in and BOOM, finished. Then I was like yay now I can never have to worry bout that again. Few quests later I stumbled up[on a moonlit path.....
