Magicka templar or Nb tank?

Howdy,

I am returning to the game after a while and i would like to be a tank and healer.. so which class would tank better using magicka? I'd rather be either a nightblade or a Templar as i like some of the changes they made on these classes.

How does Templar tank hold up compared to a NB tank that can regen magicka and stam so quickly with each hit so can basically hold block indefinitely whilst spamming Sap essence..
Personally I've always preferred the Templar and glad they made them better over the time i was away.

Thanks

Pretty sure nightblade is going to be considered easiest once the no stam regen while blocking goes into effect.

I personally would choose Templar to tank with every time between the two. NB is a great class and I hear people talk about loving their NB tanks a lot, but Templar has more utility, survivability, and shields than NB. Blazing Shield, Repentance and Rune Focus are all you need to be virtually indestructible. As I understand it, NB tanking is far more active, which is what I believe attracts most NB tanks to the role.

I'm hearing a lot about these NB "Sap Tanks", but honestly couldn't tell you if it's better to go that route versus Templar Tank. I love my Templar Healer; even though I'm not a Tank with this class, I can see the tanking potential. Templars can excel at any role really; Healer of course stands out, but Templar Tanks are quite effective and stamina Templar DPSs are dangerous.

For pure tanking though, I wouldn't count out the DragonKnight. I greatly enjoy my 1h/Shield magicka DK Tank. Good taunts, good CC, good self-heal, good shields. DK is definitely on par with Templar for magicka tanking. Might be worth looking into. It just depends on what you prefer.

I play a nightblade pseudo sap tank and I can tell you, currently I can take on dolmens, public dungoens and world bosses solo easily.

The beauty of the current system is that any class can effectively play any role, its not the class that decides the role but rather the weapons. You can't even start serious tanking without the use of a sword and shield, healing without a resto staff, especially for classes that do not have a inbuilt healing tree.

Thanks all, I think im going with the Magicka NB, as its sounds good as everything, Tank / healer / dps. And sounds like more of a challenge than your normal tanking.
