Aiming Nova on ps4?

The templar ult nova is difficult to use on the ps4. I can't figure out how to put it where I want to. I have tried holding L1 and R1 thinking I could aim it somehow but that didn't work either. Any suggestions?

I do believe you have to click the ultimate buttons once, then that brings up the gold circle you can place any where you want, then click the ultimate buttons again and it should cast the nova.

It has been a quick minute since I used Nova, but if i remember correctly, it should work like every other ground placed spell.

try just tapping the buttons together to see if it casts it, or you can aim it.

it used to be that way, but now it insta-casts on your target. Whatever the console equivalent of Tab Targeting is, you need to do that to set your target before dropping your Nova, if you want complete control over where it lands. Otherwise it drops wherever your cursor is targeting.

I just use the same target cursor you use when in battle to aim it. It took me awhile to get use to but usually I hit the mark that way.

Thanks for the advice, I will try it out and work on getting the hang of it.

One thing about Ultimate's and Bosses, the Bosses tend to move from their initial position to another one, then do attacks from there, so opening with an Ultimate may put it where the boss was, but they are not there after the fight starts, so you lose all that DoT from most Ultimate.

So, aggro them, let the boss get set, then drop the ultimate. If you need to, then kite them back over the spot if they move again.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
