Dyvith quit because he started a business, but you wouldn't know that because you haven't been close friends with him for 10 years like I have. As for the guild, you can thank L and D for that. After he stepped down, the guild ran strongly until they began to push the guild in a direction that I did not (and Dyvith would not have) agreed with. I chose to leave, and unsurprisingly the guild collapsed without me.

Sorry that nobody in this game respects you, Fake Fixate. Really though, what can you expect when you choose to steal the name of one of this game's most respected players?

Alacrity, Luvboard and Dreamstars only issue was you trip, after Dyv stepped down and passed you temporary GM, you did and accomplished zero for the guild. You countless times said you would do nothing, were not interested and wanted no responsibility (I can only assume you wanted the title but were trying to tank the guild?)

    You chose to leave?
    The guild Collapsed LOL?

Trip you were removed from Alacrity because of your behavior.

As for Alacrity we PvPed as always through the worsening lag and crowned many emperors :)

    Most of us are now happily in skyforge;
Dyvith and many of Alacritys core members who left ESO have even come join us in Skyforge and play everyday wrecking PvP, all but you are playing with us because of your choices over a girl.

"choices over a girl". Now I could say my usual stuff here but i won't. A girl in the game? Are you people serious now or is this part of your erp or acting, whatever you call it? Are some of you the people that make a living off playing games and having people watch you lol?

I am now extremely thankful of my background NOT being a "gamer".

This is so incredibly false. You kicked me because I disagreed with you, I disagreed with accepting and training all of the horrible players Alacrity was bringing in, and I hated that Alacrity had become one of the worst guilds on the faction over the period of 2-3 months after I gave you leader.

Sorry that Alacrity fell apart Luv, but don't blame me. I bailed when I realized where you, and most importantly Dreamstar, were taking it. To say that I "chose a girl" given that one of the worst healers in the game was an officer in Alacrity by your choice is hilarious.

In my experience the best leaders are usually not the best players on a Team. That was the one thing I think Alacrity lacked more than any of the other guilds I've run with. The leadership was all full of amazing players, but they weren't excellent *leaders* that brought people together at least from what I saw.

I don't think many people would say that W'R'X is the best player in Decibel (although he is good), but he is an amazing leader and people follow him because of that. In the few times I've run with Decibel that was immediately apparent to me. Dreamstar was probably the nicest person in Alacrity that I interacted with and did more than anyone else to make me feel welcome there. A guild full of skilled Elitists with ability but no true cohesion is bound to crumble or stagnate over time as they lose players through normal attrition. I agree that the dilution of skill level is a valid concern of any top guild but there is nothing wrong with keeping a few players in a guild or even promoting them if they have other useful skills/abilities that promote the well being of the guild.

I'm far from an expert on the workings of Alacrity and I'm more of an outsider looking in on most of this but that was my whole 2 cents put together from my observations and interactions with them.

You're completely right Ezareth, and the strength of Alacrity came from the combination of incredible leaders like Casuale, Permared, Fire Shot, Hexspawn, Dyvith, etc. and incredible players like Reese Withoutherspoon, Night Mistress, and Luvboard. The cohesion within the guild was well beyond what you see in any guild today.

The problem is when we started getting specific players who polarized the guild. There were also things like exploiting or mechanical abuse which similarly polarized the guild. This was what brought the guild down, and this is why the essence of Alacrity no longer exists.

Eventually these polarizing factors diminished the guild with many of the core members leaving as a result of frustration with ZOS, frustration with the guild, and frustration with these polarizing factors. Many of these core members would come back and play if we had the original lineup back, but they are not willing to play with people who they feel do not deserve to be in Alacrity. They wish for an Alacrity which does not and can not exist anymore. I originally believed myself to be outside this group, but I no longer believe this to be the case.

Regardless of that, Alacrity no longer exists. The ideals, the people, everything that made Alacrity what it was no longer exist. This is why I say that Alacrity is dead, because the only way to say that Alacrity is alive is to believe that it is reanimated - brought back to life with no soul or essence of what it once was.

This thread has my lol juice splashing all over the place.

I wasn't going to start playing the name-dropping game, but since he made his entry into this thread, I have to say that Slaxis is definitely one of the best at calling it in the game. There is a reason a lot of people want to be in his guild.

One of the reasons Misfitz gets criticized for zerging sometimes is because when Slaxis is running a group, everybody wants to be in it because they are such great groups. And his tactical excellence means we run formations that are hard to deal with.

Same thing goes for Crown. Misfitz has a ton of great group leaders. Herk and Thukia for instance :) and Kode Darkstar, possibly the best group leader you've never heard of

Carl Slack may never come back to the game, sadly, he was also a top leader and a really good man to boot

not to be an a$$ but after facing Misfitz from the other side (DC), all ive seen you do is stealth bomb. idk thats not a "good group" to me. every sustained fight ive seen misfitz in they loose. yeah their stealth bomb is on point, but i really dont think their groups are that good. just my .02 from the other side. obviously i could be wrong, i dont see you guys in every fight.

I'm not trying to say we're Rage-tier or anything. Fair criticisms. One of the things Slaxis wanted to do with his guild is make it open and available for regular people to play. It was a guild that grandfathered people in who were in Moonlight Crew after Mara left the game (a certain group of abusive and mean people ran her off, is basically what I understand happened. She was one of the nicest, classiest, smartest and talented people I've seen in the game. But she wasn't aggressive and ruthless and poorly-raised losers like the kind of people who did things like form guilds called "MOONLIGHT CREW IS FREE AP" made her not want to play any more).

We have a lot of retirees, veterans and active servicemen and women, disabled persons, blue-collar 9 to 5's, housewives, small business owners and professionals in our guild. People who don't necessarily have time to spend all day working on their toons. It's not a hardcore guild. If we were, we would run groups past 10 PM eastern, which we almost never do.

Obviously you're a top player who runs in top hardcore groups so of course you've never seen us win many fights. I think we do quite well all things considered

Mara always played for the faction, would often make pug groups and try to teach and lead those pugs, was a pretty cool person. Was *** when she left.

    Most of us are now happily in skyforge;
Dyvith and many of Alacritys core members who left ESO have even come join us in Skyforge and play everyday wrecking PvP, all but you are playing with us because of your choices over a girl.

So I wasn't going to respond to this, but what the hell. I just want to comment that I pretty much agree with both Ezareth's and Trip's last points to an extent, and I just want to be crystal clear about a few things.

Alacrity was successful when Elder Scrolls launched because it consisted of, by random chance, some of the best players to play this game (at least on Aldmeri side - and while I know this is a bold statement, I honestly believe that our accolades in both PvE and PvP support this claim). While nostalgia is a very strong thing, I firmly believe this period to be the golden age of Elder Scrolls and I miss it dearly.

I left for multiple reasons. First and foremost was the heinous lag that crippled PvP. For those of you that remember it and played through it, props on you. It was miserable. While I may have been the guild leader of Alacrity, I was only part of the heart and soul of the guild, and when after an entire month, PvP was still unplayable, Casual, Metal Dimmu, Ninjuka, and Niwilav all quit to play other games. These were four of the eight officers that contributed daily within Alacrity. With their departure, it paved way for two things: people began trying to fill their shoes by stepping up (Perma, Luv, Trip, Hex, Fire Shot), and new people started joining the guild. This was when I began phasing out. I lost interest. Half of my close friends had left. Casual and I have known eachother for years. It just wasn't the same. Combined with the feeling that my original core had shattered in half, I started feeling disgruntled with the direction that we were taking. Yes, we exploited for a little bit, and while I understand why we did it (our attitude was that if ZOS wasn't going to fix their game, we were going to at least have the most fun playing it that we could), I didn't fully agree with it. Effectively, I solely disagreed with the direction of the guild, and our other two core officers at the time, Trip and Hex, both thought it was fine. I was already absent, and this was ultimately what made me step down as GM.

Trip stepped up in name. I was much more absent than I had been, focusing on other games like League and MTG. I was also teaching full time and entered into a relationship. What little reason I had for playing shifted elsewhere. I know that tensions were tense between Luv, Dream, and Trip. Hex and Perma both stepped down as far as their role within the guild - they may have retained the title, but leadership definitely revolved around Dream, Luv, and Trip.

From what I understand, Trip felt that the guild was stolen from him. Dream and Luv felt that Trip was sabotaging the guild. I think they're both a bit right. As Trip was there from day one, I fully understand his desire to have the "Old Alacrity" back. I miss it too, dearly. On the other hand, I don't think it was possible for "Old Alacrity" to exist. Elder Scrolls may still have players that have the talent that we had - I don't doubt that for a moment - but what made Alacrity what it was wasn't that our players had skill, it was that our players had the constant drive to improve. In all of my years of gaming, I have never met a group of people so driven to improve their game and actually do so.

When Trip stepped down, Luv and Dream took over. Alacrity would have functionally stopped existing had it not been for the time and effort they put in. No, it doesn't look like "Old Alacrity," but anyone that has played Vanilla WoW knows that it's impossible to go back to the nostalgic golden era of a game. Right now, "Alacrity" exists as an entity on Skyforge, a new MMO that came out in the last few weeks. We're the #1 guild outside of Russia at the moment (as Russians have had the game for much longer).

It's kind of funny that Real Fixate, Nicole, Ms. Jones, and a plethora of other original Elder Scrolls players have joined us as part of Alacrity in Skyforge. It's refreshing, honestly. I'd invite everyone to give it a shot, though the intention of my post was certainly not to recruit people to play with us.

My apologies if I rambled. People that know me know that I like to talk, and I love to reminisce. It's unfortunate that Alacrity's name was tainted by a bit of drama, but I will say that even if Alacrity in Elder Scrolls looks different than it did on that first day when Elder Scrolls Online first launched, it withstood the test of time. Time changes all things. Things that don't change die, and things that do change evolve. Alacrity has evolved into a different game, and our core players are different, but the one thing that hasn't changed is that being a member of Alacrity means something - it means that our members are driven to be the best of the best in any game, and it isn't just something we say to sound bad ass, it is genuinely an attitude that we all possess.

I hope everyone in Tamriel is well. I miss many of you. I guess this is an appropriate place to tell Dream, Luv, and Trip, as well as every officer of Alacrity how proud I am of them and how thankful I am. Running a guild is no easy feat. I guess it's not so surprising that two of the former guild masters have been a social worker and a therapist.

Oh, and Ezareth - I think you're right. I was never the best player in Alacrity. I'd like to think that I was up there, but I didn't carry the flag. I just tried to point us in the right direction, and I'm thankful that I had an outstanding officer core to support me in my decisions every step of the way.

    With love,

    Dyvith
