[Question] Sorcerer weapon glyph mechanics

My understanding is that weapon glyphs have internal cooldowns and that their effects only proc when these cooldowns are ready. My question is, can weapon enchantment effects proc with spells, or do they only proc on light/heavy weapon attacks?

For example:

Consider the weapon ehchantment: Glyph of fire (Deals X fire damage)

As a sorcerer, I never use my weapon's attack, but I use the destruction staff ability Force Pulse. Will X fire damage be dealt on my force pulses (or Crystal Frags) whenever the cooldown is ready?

Whatever the answer is, is this true for Glyphs of Absorb magicka/health too?

Finally, what's the best sorcerer staff weapon glyph in your opinion?

Thanks :)

No idea, great question. But you should use your weapon attacks anyway. Try charging up a heavy attack for one second and then hitting force pulse/crushing shock to cancel the heavy attack, then repeat :) Also disease is a good weapon enchant for pvp cos it's supposed to reduce your opponents healing. For pve it's probably absorb magicka.

Edit: I recommend using your weapon attacks cos they can do a lot of damage. I once hit a former emperor for 15k with a heavy attack from my destro staff. He was a vampire but even so, they usually do anywhere from 2-6k dmg, and if you weave your weapon attacks in-between your skills you can really improve your dps.

If I remember, a enchantment can proc on a light/heavy attack but also on a weapon attack (crushing shock, shield charge…tornado and pulsar). Need confirmation, tough.

And yes, with cutanim you can proc the enchantment with medium attack. But some sets can't use light/heavy attack.

Somebody told me about heavy attack frame cancelling yesterday. I'll try it out tonight! I hope it works with Force Pulse. Thanks for the feedback.

The question is still open, will weapon enchants proc on weapon based attacks (Force Pulse, Crushing Rock, Pulsar, etc.)?
