Have I gimped my NB?
So I begin the game by rolling a Dumner NB for dual wield bonus, and am now lvl 18 using dual/bow/stealth. Is the racial choice going to hamstring me later on? From what I gather, wood elf or khajit would have been a better choice. And Dumner are for DKs.
I've also leveled Provisioning up to 30 and spent some hours in the other crafts, so pretty reluctant to reroll.

✭You just have a pretty much useless passive with Fire Damage, at the end of the day. You still get increased Stamina and Magicka. Unless you are just deadset on Max/Min it's not going to cripple you.1 -
Personally would rather play a race I like, regardless of their passives, but the hard-core players will tell you it wasn't the best choice!1 -

Race/class balancing is always evolving in mmo's. So whats best today may be meh tommorow.
The champion system kind of makes any class race combo equal if you have some extra champ points.2 -

Zanen✭✭✭At lvl 18 I'd reroll Bosmer in a heartbeat.
You're maybe 6% into the leveling process and cap is only the beginning of your character progression.

Well, he can always put fire enchants on the weapon. The Fire resist is pretty nice in some dungeons, though.

✭✭✭✭✭Dunmer dual-dagger & bow nightblade main here, works well enough.
Yeees, you will find people telling you redguard make a bit better nightblades because of this, and bosmer because of that, but in the end... only min/maxers really care about that last half percentage point.
If you like dunmer, play dunmer. (and the fire resistance -is- useful in many cases)0 -

I'd reroll at your level, and I'm hardly a min/maxer.
If you like dark elf race aethetically tho, then stick with it. Racials matter, but not enough to trump the race that will make you like your character more.
For stam nb, go bosmer, redguard, or imperial.
For magic nb, go breton, high elf, or imperial.
Imperial and dunmer are prolly the best all arounders - so there's that.

It's a shame that the character starter page only gives a description of the races rather than the racial skills that it locks you into.
If I was to roll a Bosmer NB, would you recommend continuing the crafting on this Dumner, to twink the Bosner? Or learn a craft on Bosmer as well?0 -

yeah if there was only some sort of world wide system where if we wanted to know a piece of information before making a choice. we could use it to find out.0
