ryanmjmcevoy_ESO✭✭✭It might end up decreasing performance since it's additional calculation that needs t be done, but with single target abilities, you can't cast them unless 1) you have a target and 2) they're in range. Can something similar be implemented for AoE skills? Inability to cast unless valid target(s) are within the radius of the cast? Doing that in itself might hinder all the skills though since lag from other sources will prevent anyone from casting if clients are showing accurate locations on screen.0

You should stop defending those who failed to fix lag. Everything started when they introduced the ''lighting effect'' patch.
BTW, removing deer didn't remove the lag.
The solution is simple, add more potatoes.

[Edit] The pvp in this game was marketed as large scale, open world pvp. As it stands now, that is not possible. The game is, at times, very broken. The latency spikes into the thousands. Entire servers crash. All skills do not go through, or have 1-5minute OR MORE delay. People are able to spam their meteors and standards and ultimates almost every SECOND in this lag, further snowballing into worse lag.
People are allowed to be aggravated and disappointed. And they are allowed to express that. This is a game many people anticipated for YEARS. The solution for some of us is not to simply abandon it. In some cases, people have put in literally MONTHS of gameplay building characters. The small flashes of competitive combat that are not drenched in lag are so promising. The game has so much potential. However, it also has many flaws. Those flaws will continue to be expressed on these forums until they are remedied. In case you were unsure, that's kinda the purpose of a forum: an exchange of ideas. If you want everyone to just prescribe to your point of view or leave, then you are delusional. That's not how things work.

Honestly, I don't think it's true. The console players are still on honeymoon phase and haven't become aware of the most effective meta yet. Either that or they are lagging and just don't notice because they are drinking the kool aid. An example was there are console folks bragging about their "insane burst" with 2h yet they only have 19k stamina. Not sure I'd take that person's word for anything really but I do believe it's just because they are so behind on how the game works.

I hear you on that. Console is launched and according to console players it's running fine so hopefully we will start seeing some global improvements to the game whether or not it's console. The entire push back pc development to get consoles launched was the biggest cop out I've ever seen. The way I see it was it allowed them to churn staff with an excuse. Quite a few lead developers left the game over that period of time. I guess the main reason why I see that as a poor excuse is that I've experienced first hand another MMO that launched on PS4 with absolutely no downtime in development. They actually improved the visual fidelity and quality of life in the same patch like it was business as usual. Not to mention that studio was quite smaller as well.
I just don't buy the excuse of halting PC development to launch on consoles.
