For the purposes of this poll assume that any dye you have achieved in game thus far remains unlocked to you. You lose nothing already gained. If you support dyes being offered in the Crown Store please comment and tell us if you feel they should be offered singly, in packs (how many per pack if so?), both and what you feel are fair prices that you would be willing to pay.

I support dyes being in the Crown Store ONLY if the achievemements for which they are a reward are replaced with an even better award for each achievement. Feel free to add what you feel would be a suitable replacement reward.

I would like to see some new and different dyes available in the Crown Store but the dyes already in game to be left as they are.

There probably aren't many colors left that aren't already part of the dye system. Even if they did add some to the crown store that are different, the difference would hardly be noticeable. Who's going to notice anyway. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a player walking by and thought to myself, hey I think that guy is wearing Cold Harbour Ash Black, sure wish I had that dye...

I wouldn't mind seeing some new dyes being made available but I'm not sure how that would work since there are so many already. Maybe some real primary colours. There isn't a good yellow available or even a real red. Of course, there would have to be some reason for me to sub because I'm not spending my hard earned cash for a colour in a game. That's not going to happen. I do happen to have some left over crowns from the transfer though.

The dyes are the rewards for doing the achievement and it's a way to show what you have accomplished in the game. So I wouldn't want to ruin those rewards by having them be bought. I have no problem if others want to pay for new colors in the store though.

I'm more for not putting it in the crown store. My reason is that it just gives some people something, however minor like dyes, to strive for. That PvP Legate Black dye? Go PvP to get it (I am a PvE most times, so it's something to achieve for once I finish all PvE content).

But then again, just my opinion. Good idea though.

Well I said only if replaced. PVP could be replaced by huge chunks of AP, small buffs active in Cyrodiil, specific costumes

And PVE dyes could be replaced by again specific costumes, materials, lump sums of gold, things relating to the achievement itself OR...trophy's/furniture for your home (PVE offers endless possibilities)

I just want Overlord Purple :D

I'll buy it...100 crowns per color @ZOS_RichLambert /lurk *wink wink*
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

I've been saying they should add some new dyes to the crown store that are separate from the existing achievement related dyes, ever since they announced the crown store.

The concern there would be that they would stack the more desirable colors as pay to own.

I will ask you this question as a portent. When the imperial daedra/xyvkin motif becomes available, how many people will buy it from the crown store simply to avoid the constraints at collecting it via the regular game mechanics within Imperial City?

Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

No dyes in the Crown store was my vote, though honestly, I couldn't care less either way. I certainly won't buy them. The three dyes I wanted are already unlocked through normal questing, so I'm good to go.

The rest aren't of interest to me.

That is not something we should even vote on. People have RIGHT to use any colour, especially if they pay.
And people who say dyes should be earned and not bought - that is simply wrong, next time you could demand we earn mounts, costumes or XP/CP.

I think that's like the most noticeable dye the game has.. lol
But I literally had that exact scenario go through my head because I was trying to black out a NB and all the other "black" shades are light grey in comparison.

I love working towards things and would like the in game dyes and achievements to stay the same. With that said I FREAKING LOVE SHINEY THINGS ... I mean take the PoE store of example the things you could get to bring the bling was insane.

The crown store dyes would need to be pretty intense to be worth money, maybe even just be a quest that you can buy ....... actually thinking about it now.

Nah I change my vote, leave as is but have crazy quests to get shiney ones or dyes they emit rays.

The look of my character is the only thing that tells it apart from anyone else.

Why should I want a years worth of work out the window?

There is nothing else that is hard to get in this game. My look though is unique to me.

    I would like two things...
For one, maaaybe having crown store options to unlock the dyes for those who are too impatient to get the achievement...
And for another, perhaps special dye options sold in the crown store.

Putting ALL dyes into the crown store would suck. Much better with achievement rewards!

I really enjoy dyes being earned. Doing so they are like badge of honor.

When you see another player all decked out, you go, "wow, that person did some serious playing in ESO".

If ZOS sells in Crown store it just really cheapens any and all accomplishment for time, pride, and work a player has put in to the game.

My own contention is that dyes should never have been used as achievement awards in the first place. Much like Cadwell's Silver and Gold it was a cheap and lazy way to make a simple feature pull "double duty." It got them out of actually making REAL rewards for that truly endless list of achievements, the vast majority of which you still get absolutely nothing for. So either EVERY achievement is worth a dye or NONE of them are. Titles, trinkets, costumes, unique vanity pets, a personal tabbard, all of these should have been used as rewards for achievements, NOT dyes. Even if they had to be rolled out slowly and only a few at a time, which would be perfectly reasonable. Instead, ZOS decided to implement sumptuary laws wherein the "peasants" are not allowed to dress as nice as the "nobles." And the only people defending this practice are either those who already have the coveted dyes or they are actually logging in the hours to get them and know that their playstyle is one that will allow them to have them whilst people with different playstyles are left out in the colorless cold.

I would not like to see dyes in the Crown store in any way, whatsoever. I like the fact that characters can literally wear their accomplishments on their sleeves. As it stands, there are so many different dyes it would be hard to tell an existing dye tied to an achievement with a Crown Store dye of similar hue. Adding dyes to the Crown Store, in my opinion, would water down the sense of pride you get for displaying your achievements through your character's armor dyes.

Right now the only thing linked to achievements are the dyes. You want that cool dye play the game. People keep complaining about lack of content then in the same breath don't want to be bothered playing the game to receive their dyes

    @MornaBaine

I feel that regardless of your play style, if you play the game, you will unlock dyes. You don't need to exclusively PVP, or PVE, or be a member of a given Alliance to have dyes available to unlock for a variety of different things.

As for the sumptuary law comment, well, the world of ESO is based loosely on Medieval society where those laws were commonplace so, hey, immersion! (Just kidding, couldn't resist :) )

Achievements (especially difficult ones - which in ESO solely means time consuming) should have rewards. If the rewards are purchasable it negates the need to reach an achievement. However, I could see polls in the future popping up asking for those rewards to appear in the crown store because "not fair", "too hard", "but ...".

My contention is that all those "hard"/time consuming achievements SHOULD have cool rewards. But they SHOULD NOT be dyes. I'm a little astonished that you guys are so willing to let ZoS off the hook on this.

I actually like the fact that the rewards are dyes, as do many of the people I play with. It lets you show off to the world what you have done. When lower level characters see my character's black and gold armor, they know they are looking at an accomplished player. It's fun when they actually bow to my character! You can only have one title visible at a time, so the dyes on your armor are what set you truly apart.

It would be more of a chip on my shoulder if I couldn't get the majority of the shades of colors that I personally wanted. I tend to prefer the easier-to-get dyes simply because the achievement typically have a lacquer/sheen to them that looks, imo, like plastic. I completely understand the desire to have all the dying options available to you though. I dunno what reward would warrant the achievement though. Mounts and Costumes would likely be requested to be put in the crown store, and those are typically the other things tied to achievements.

All of the colors I want are PvP achievements...and I really hate PvP in this game. If they had the same colors for the more difficult PvE achievements I MIGHT be okay with that but I still think dyes should never have been used this way in the first place.

And you're entitled to that opinion. Regrettably for you however is the fact that the vast majority of players do not share it. What PvP only dye do you wish to achieve? I'm sure there is a similar dye for your somewhere in the spectrum.

Every item that ends up in the store takes some of the fun out of the game. When I got Regicide Red, it was an awesome surprise! You can't replace that feeling with "wow, I just spent x dollars and got red!" Huzzah.

Accomplishments are what makes the game fun and rewarding, I don't want that to change.
