Oh ok, so there's no "known" spot (like "west of Davon's Watch" or something) where we can find Ore & Runes, we have to run around ?In order to find you're best option is to run around the mountain areas. Both ore and runes can be found around these areas. Runes are a little easier to spot since they glow, but even ore just takes a keen eye most times to spot.
Ok, so where could I purchase some Motif ?In order to craft other styles, you need to get the Motif for that race type. Either by random drop or purchase
Yes, beginner's island for all 3 factions is wonderful, go back there and grab everything you see. Especially runes, I find they are easier to get there versus anywhere else. Along water and mountains seem best.AdamskiAlders wrote: »I've found the best places to rack up a lot of Iron Ore and Runes(and Maple) is to explore the regions of Stros M'kai/Betnikh, Khenarthi's Roost or Bleackrock depending on which alliance you start in. I've gone back to those a couple of times to beef up my supplies of raw materials. Also Keen Eye is a god-send, a very handy set of skills to have.

It might just be a coincidence but it seems that the amount of resource spawns is tied to the amount of players in the area.
Hello everyone !
Let me first say how much I love this game, and this is actually the first MMO where I also absolutely love Crafting !!
(Final Fantasy XIV crafting was fun too but the actual crafting process took a bit too much time imo).
Anyway, as I'm still very new at this, there's a lot I have to discover about it !
First, are there some good places to hunt for Iron Ore (for Blacksmithing) and Runes (for Enchanting) ?
Or are they just scattered randomly all around the map ?
Then, there's something I didn't quite get : how do we learn other Crafting styles ?
I'm a Dark Elf so I can craft in the Dunmer style with Obsidian, but if I want to craft in another style, what do I have to do ?
Thanks

Thanks everyone for the advices !
I'm "upping" this thread because now I've progressed a bit in Blacksmithing and I'm now able to use Steel instead of Iron, yay me
But now I've got another question : what do I do with all of my Iron Ore & Lingots ?
I guess I cannot refine them and turn them into Steel, so ... what can I do with them now that I'm using Steel to craft my weapons & armor ?
