So what is the quickest way to make money? I'm fairly new and could use some advice on ways to earn money and upgrade armor and weapons. Input would be appreciated!

Doing story quests, if there was a chat, one could make a quick buck by selling gold items like Kuta, Dreugh Wax, sadly theres no way now. Thieving is easy 5k.

Btw, Ive said it again that they should put some gold on the starter kit or whatever its called at Crown Store.

You're probably not going to upgrade armour beyond blue until you hit VR ranks and most of your money should go towards bank / bag upgrades alongside mount and the associated training.

Basically play the game, sell of stuff green or below, deconstruct blue or above, sell of excess material and you should start making money. Alternatively, stealing makes decent gold, granted it's capped to x amount every day. Play the game through, quest and vendor, you should ultimately have a bit of gold to work with.

Also should I be working with other people? I mean I've been pretty much on my own

Stealing and farming gear. Farming gear is much slower than stealing but without the risks associated with an *** beating from the guards. You can do both.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but my gold reward for stealing is so tiny, it's not worth the time and difficulty it takes to steal the items, that only sell for 30 gold per piece

Second. It requires a lot of running around and luck though.

    Red guard dance in cities.

But seriously I made a solid, steady; income leveling 1-50 just by grabbing every material node making my way around doing quests, and selling them in bulk.
stash away all your mats / improvement reagents and give it a week or two, and you'll be sitting on a pretty valuable pile of stuff. Just learn to play your market; learn what sells at what price etc.

Making money is required to buy storage and early that's it's best use. Sell anything you can grab that you don't want to deconstruct. Become a good thief. Don't fall into the trap of flamboyant rogue; be a stealthy thief and log out immediately if you become disreputable while indoors. You lose everything you stole if you pay the fine or get caught by a guard and that's not the way to make money.

The salted items just for stealing are worth more than anything else you can sell balanced item for item and sometimes a lot more. 14 white or 4 green will buy you a first level bag and that can be done fairly fast in beginning cities and on starter islands. Stealing is also pretty much the only way to find motifs and recipes. Be sure to sell often and launder most of the rest. If you get caught and have a lot of stolen items on you it is possible to be attacked immediately, or so my own experience tells me.

This is advise which presupposes a noob with an empty bank and no guild. These people get forgotten sometimes so I hope I have helped.

Think you are confusing ESO with another game known as Destiny. Lol

ESO is great game. Tons to do. On first character and 180 hours in and still not completed all the quests. ESO is about enjoying the game, not sprinting through it.
