Fix Grouping XP Yes ? or No ?

patrykplawskib16_ESO
So 99% of us know that if you have have a 3rd person in your group the xp gets cut. Like when I'm grinding with a xp pot on, with a 2 man dou I get around 500 but when a 3rd person comes along its gets reduced all the way to 330! that is allot of xp lost just for one person added, It's time we all talk about this. Should the group xp reduction system be terminated so everyone is equal and can grind CP or levels without a fight braking out or taking hours on end get one CP cause the place is flooded with 4-5 people ? at the moment its hard to get CP in the general grind spot you go to. This mostly applies to DC side they don't have cyro delve near them that gives good xp and if you want to go to cracked wood cave good luck cause AD and EP on purpose likes to stand there just to kill you so you get nothing cause they for some reason have beef with you getting CP and 80% of the time AD and EP are capped in pvp and DC is getting destroyed.

I hate it how I have to keep waking up everyday and grind 5 CP along with fighting others for xp struggling everyday spending upwards of 4-5 hours to get 5 CP @ZOS_GinaBruno and ye I know it s a MMO but this is the worst MMO I seen for grinding and cathing up with other for a system that gives advantages, its difficult trying to compete with other that are at 360-400 and this point and trying to catch up to them. Also please give DC some spot to grind they literately have one spot the tigers and its always over flooded.

A game built and balanced around forcing you into groups of 4 cuts your XP with a group larger than 2.

    I've stopped asking why.

I think they should cap the CP system to do away with grinding.

Most people hate grinding. Some really like it. More power to them. If they add tier caps to cp and diminishing returns to make it pointless, only the people that really love grinding will do it.

Efficient grinding areas will no longer be crowded. Problem solved.

To answer OP though no, I don't think they should do away with this. The last thing I want to see is an area with 10+ people botting/training/raiding every mob in site the second it spawns because everyone in the group gets XP.

This grinding apocalypse is bad enough as it is. Having entire areas of a map empty because everyone in a large group gets equal XP when anyone kills anything would just ruin exploration.

What I mean to say is raise the group xp cap make it 5 and it will be fair and there's botters yes but that's ZOS's problem to fix I'm even thinking of botting cause that's how annoying its becoming.

Force us to group in veteran levels as its hard to run solo, then punish us for having to big of a group.

    That's a reduction in your book? Let's see: 2x500 = 1000. 3x330 = 990. Sounds about right.

    Your first mistake?
NEVER mention CP in a post if you don't want that post to become about CP only.

    As to the topic...
Yeah, cutting XP for "groups" of more than two is kinda dumb.
A "typical" group in RPGs is usually a minimum of three, and four being pretty much standard when you add in your "thief".

The point is that groups do get full XP. You distribute the effort required to kill things among group members, game distributes XP reward.

I see you point, I really do.

However, that is still at worst marginally penalising grouping-up, and at best making grouping-up neutral.

Surely the point is to encourage people to group up.

    Just a thought.

It boggles my mind why I get reduced xp in group dungeons and trials when I bring the recommended number of people in.

ZOS, remove the xp penalty. Stop hurting the health of your game. I understand you feel it's a balancing mechanism to force people to spread out, but when your high xp/min areas are so few and far between it doesn't make me want to spread out for xp. It makes me want to bang my head against the wall.

This is only part of the problem though. We NEED more content. We need areas to play our higher level characters in that award proper, at level, xp. Cragrlorn was nerfed into Oblivion and we run our V11+ characters in V10 zones fighting other players for scraps of xp. I know I'm not the only one that sees the logical fail in this situation and I thank the OP for bringing this topic up again.

A quick simple fix of extending the group size to 4 before adding an xp penalty would at least make instanced dungeons a viable xp area for group of 4.

It make sense that exp would get cut with more people in group because more people in group means you can kill stuff faster, so technically you should still be getting the same amount of exp in the long run. Of course, there are other factors that play here, primarily mob respawn time. It's quite possible that in some situations you actually get more exp with a full group, meanwhile in other situations you're better off duo'ing.

I personally don't mind the current system because i usually grind either alone or with a friend and feeling like I should join a large group for more exp would be a turn off.

Not really. If these people who can not count accreted at one place, combined...well, well...lack of brilliance...could reach critical mass and ignite chain reaction.

No dou'ign is faster depends on the player and how good he/she is and how fast she/he can kill, for example I have the dps of 4x of people combined in the rift at the tigers I don't need anyone but a extra partner for the bonus XP, anyone else there is just slowing me down.

The other thing to consider is that XP from any target are shared. So if you are ... fighting a bunch of daedra (and so are others), even if you are all running off in all directions, anything killed by any party member gives XP among all. So there will be more total kills to be divided.

Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
