I believe a portion of PvP problems may be related to communication. When i first joined PvP i assumed the "crown" had done something to earn the position as the group leader. I quickly realized that this was not the case. Random leaders + random followers = random results. Some large groups i have been in didn't speak at all while in other groups it is impossible to decipher what anyone is saying as everyone is talking at the same time. It is in these situations the group leader needs to take the reigns and control his/her group. The group leader also needs to communicate and coordinate with other groups or assign someone in the group to relay messages.
I do not understand why each alliance does not have it's own private forum somewhere for players to discuss tactics, assign leadership and group roles, coordinate attacks, etc.
The current trend i have experienced is recruit until your group is full regardless of level or usefulness to the group and "follow the crown".
Will better communication put every player on the same page? No. Better communication will allow the players who are interested in winning the campaign for their alliance a more than random chance of victory.
