Here is how I approach PvP: I treat it like PvE with the risk of other players trying to kill me while I quest. I have a lot of fun just trying to go about my business chasing this achievement or that, getting good XP, and doing the daily quests. If the map is unfriendly to my faction, then it makes it that much more thrilling to go about my business as it tends to be very risky.

Sure I run with the groups now and then and have a good time doing it, but I don't make it the reason I'm in Cyrodiil. It's just another part of the activities you can do in there. You are correct in that if you only go in there and join a group, you will be doing the same thing every day and it becomes a tedious grind for little reward, but if you go in there with a different agenda and the combat is an obstacle to that end, then it becomes more interesting.

Cyrodiil is also fun to be tourist in...although when you cross borders...it's not a real safe activity...I found the SE border along the river to be very nice for just exploring and farming.

Just go "sandbox" and do random things! :-)

@dsalter yeah i know your feeling, i am totaly bored of Cyro, and it was one particular thing which kept me here, but doing all the time same things is not enjoyable anymore for me.. While waiting for 1.7 patchnote i moved to FFXIV..

They said they'll give us a rundown of update 7 on Monday I believe, but even then that means 3-4 weeks or more of PTS assuming update 7 even hits the PTS next week, which I seriously doubt. I honestly hope shakeups in upper level development allow the game to be made like a true ES game, because I've tried twisting arms of friends from other MMOS to play, and they all say the same thing : Skyrim is better, but the dumb thing is most of these people only insist on playing it with mods out the yin yang, or keep restarting their game because 'it's just not right'. Still, there is a reason Skyrim still has like 15 million concurrent players on Steam even today. ES has the capacity to be much bigger than any existing MMO, because I can't ever remember in WOW being able to loot crates for veggies or pickpocket NPCs, or switch out my abilities on the fly and have all these options at my disposal instead of the same 8-9 cookie cutter talents that the game has been pared down to. I think the biggest mistake made early on in ESO was management tried to run it too much like 'other mmos'. instead of making a really awesome game in general.

I told myself I'd get back to PVPing after the current cycle finishes in AS. Whether I'll maintain the momentum is another thing, because so many people I used to run with aren't playing atm, much less on that server, and I like playing in a group setting even if the group leader is stoned drunk off his ass and rambling on his twitch.
